What a cosy place with very nice food & wine. The owners are such sweet people who made our short stay just perfect 🤩. And the best thing is that they are dog friendly. We already booked pur next stay when we are on the road again from Holland to Spain. Already looking forward to it!

What a wonderful location! The pictures do not do this place justice, tucked under the imposing Chateau on a hilltop village. The rooms are clean, tastefully furnished and well equipped, and ours had a great view out over the village and the valley. There's masses of parking and a nice shaded terrace for meals as well as an attractive restaurant. The food was excellent, and fantastic value. The owners are charming.

If you can - and want to - afford it, this is simply an amazing, lovely place. A beautiful chateau in a well-maintained park. Absolutely friendly and helpful staff throughout.     Clermont-Ferrand was a really enjoyable place to visit. I especially liked how the city blends natural beauty with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Getting around the city was pretty straightforward. When it came to food, we mostly tried local spots we came across while walking around, and overall, the food scene felt very authentic and accessible. There were also lots of parks and open spaces where he could run around and play. Overall, it’s a great city for a relaxed family trip with a good mix of nature, culture, and kid-friendly activities.

    So refined, so relaxing so utterly charming.

    So refined, so relaxing so utterly charming. In some ways Vichy is a throwback to different generation yet offers so much to the modern traveller- a beautiful lake to walk or cycle around, great wine bars and restaurants from top end Michelin starred to welcoming cafes.

    The medieval centre and Jardin Wilson were lovely and MUPOP very. Interesting.but otherwise there was little to do. Once we hired a car we were able to travel to interesting hiking places. You really need a car unless you are just in Montlucon for a mini break.

    Just across the road from Moulins station, the hotel is simple, spotlessly clean, with lovely staff and great breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Was only sorry that the restaurant was closed on the day I was there.

    Some really good restaurants but you need to book in advance as they all seemed to be busy in the evenings. Parking is quite good in the evenings but takes a bit of time finding a space during the day.

    Issoire is an ideal overnight stop when travelling from the UK to Spain and vice versa. The A75 from Clermont Ferrand to Beziers is the best road I ever travel on -- relatively quiet, especially at night, lovely scenery and a direct route to the Med. Also, the only toll is on the magnificent Millau Bridge, but that is avoidable by going through the town. Central Issoire, where there is a good choice of accommodation, is only a half mile from Junction 13.

    Very nice town with easy access to beautiful countryside. Plan eating out carefully this time of year (October) as many restaurants etc have limited opening times. Most museums and attractions etc are closed this time of year but the walks are stunning.

    you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is...

    you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is easily found off the N145. we stayed to visit nearby Montlecon, which easy to find and not to far away, but again best to have a car. ACE hotel itself is ideal for what we wanted in a short stay B&B. Staff very good priced about right regards value for money, and a continental breakfast included. no complaints from us, i would say its the french equivilent of Travel lodge in the uk if you are looking for a comparison.

    We had been there before but only for a single night.

    We had been there before but only for a single night. We love the town, the hotel, the atmosphere. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was incredible and ate out for other meals (not available in out hotel). Bit of a nuisance to search for other places to eat - the month was September and quite a few places were closed. The Cafe de Paris was a reliable stop gap.
