We liked the hop on hop off bus though we couldn’t get the audio to work on our phones. The MuCee is great with excellent exhibitions and a sunset cruise on a sailing boat was lovely especially if you are young and happy to swim. But it was also good for an old couple. Like us. Like a lot of French towns, it is difficult to get a sandwich type lunch and also dinner in the evening as lots of restaurants closed in the evening. There is a lot of public transport - metro, buses, trams and you can tap with your card for ticketspGuest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely city to visit, just go and try.
Lovely city to visit, just go and try. There was an amazing open market to explore (Tuesday) and we found some great places to eat. Only stayed a couple of nights, I would recommend 3 or 4. We traveled on Interrail and took a train direct from Paris Lyon to Montpellier Sud de France. It’s was fast about 3 hours. The station is out of town but we discovered that they are opening up a new line (Oct 2025) to link up with Montpellier station itself so you can change and not take a taxi or try you luck with a bus that could take 45mins. That’s going to make a huge difference.Guest review byAdrian RodgersUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely little gem of a town, lots of medieval history and a good food and drinks scene. People are really friendly and a lot speak a bit of English if your French isn’t very good! It’s a very walkable town as well, and I recommend the little train tour to give you some history and context for the place.Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots of interesting bars and restaurants situated on either side of the canal. The cathedral is well worth visiting. There is also Les Halles covered market. A large open market takes place on Sunday around the canal. If you are a fan of Charles Trenet then a visit to his house/Museum is an absolutely must ~ fascinating. It’s within easy walking distance just over the railway line.Guest review byWatson - 4.0
We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place.
We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place. The main town wasn’t nice and not somewhere I would want to walk around. Beaches were very average - dusty shingle rather than sand. I wouldn’t return or recommend. We included the visit in a stopover.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Beziers is a nice location to be based in, with plenty of Sightseeing in the city. The 'Tourist train' costing €8 was well worth availing of, as it gave a description of each site in your chosen language on the earphones supplied with your ticket, as it passed by the many sites on the tour. You could then visit your chosen sites in your own time for further viewing at your leisure. The Bus service, especially to and from the Airport to Beziers city which was timed to accommodate flight times was excellent and cheap just €2 each way. Also several Bus routes servicing Beziers city itself and to other cities etc. as well as nearby beaches were available for just €1 each way, a really brilliant service. One needed to check out the Restaurants as some were quite pricey, and equally good Restaurants were available nearby without the exorbitant prices.Guest review byMichael AIreland - 10.0

Don't go to Rome. Sete is much better. The amphitheatre is a must see. The town also doesn't feel very touristy. We felt like locals roaming the streets and finding great cafes and restaurantsGuest review byCathyCanada - 10.0

Excellent little town with ample restaurant choices and amazing access to the Calanques National Park. Very walkable, great bakeries (Boulangerie Lion & Le Fournil du Port). Cannot comment on the main beach but la Plage du Bestouan and the Calanque de Port-Pin offer some great swimming and sunbathing opportunities.Guest review byFranciszekUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It was an experiment for us to join our cruise in Marseille using air travel. We stayed in Vitrolles due to late flight time, We now know that we could have taken a shuttle from the airport to Marseille Station which would have suited our plans much better.Guest review byJimFrance
