Lovely town with a number of great restaurants. September was a good month to travel as the town was not over busy with tourists. From our accommodation it was easy to walk into town, so didn't require to use the car. Parking is limited in the town itself.

Perfect place to explore Provence, it's right in the middle.

Perfect place to explore Provence, it's right in the middle. In the town you will find the basics: supermarket, some restaurants, others. The old towncenter is nice, and late afternoon (not on marketday) we found good parking facilities. Tip: google maps doesn't know that some streets in the old town are closed and it navigates inside impossible places. It's better to park next to the river and walk 3 minutes to the center.

Pertuis is an unglamorous, normal, quite large village located not far from interstate A51, the vertical highway that divides the eastern and western halves of inland Provence. From Pertuis, it was easy to get to both our westernmost destinations (i.e., Avignon) and our easternmost destinations (i.e., the Gorges du Verdon), as well as to Aix-en-Provence to the south, yet the village was completely non-touristy. I would definitely stay there again.

Bonniuex is the most beautiful and lively of all the towns in this region. There is so much to explore, and so much history to see… we went to other towns and were always glad that we stayed in Bonnieux and only day tripled to the others… don’t look anywhere else to stay and if you do, make sure you spend a day in Bonniuex.

It’s a charming french village. The best croissant aux amandes, best croq monsieur (a french version of ham and cheese sandwich), best ice cream. I have tried the lavande and the framboise flavors. Excellent! And a bonus surprise: I discovered a barista shop, for coffee lovers! The best double expresso I ever had! I am from Brazil and I drink coffee everyday. The best of the best was in Forcalquier. A hidden gem!
