Honfleur is a gorgeous mediaeval fishing town that we have visited well over a dozen times. We never get tired of going back. There is always something to see and do. Amazing art galleries to look at, the small tourist train that takes you to all the main sites in Honfleur and it's environs. The replica William the Conquerors longship that is being built - a trip on the Seine to the Pont-d- Normandie. La Lieutenance, the harbour and the numerous cafes and restaurants, just walking through the old town/St Catherine Quarter (downhill always leads back to the old harbour - so you can't get lost!)Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I was in Deauville for the Bridge Festival, so chose the location for that reason. However, I would say that some of the restaurants in Deauville are not great value or quality and prefer to eat in Trouville where there is better choice and value in my opinion. It is all down to personal taste, obviously many wealthy Parisians and foreign visitors like to be in Deauville, for the beach and top hotels. Relative to Trouville it is quite smart, but Trouville is more lively and overall more interesting. Next time, I will stay in Trouville although it is more of a walk to the casino.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a small early twentieth century town with a magnificent beach and is a super base to explore the area from. There is so much history just a short drive away and the city of Deauville can be reached extremely easily along the coast road. Walking and cycling opportunities are excellent too. The local restaurants are very good - we particularly enjoyed eating at Le Mermoz. The fish market in Trouville was also amazing.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Very nice old town and church.
Very nice old town and church. A few shops but futher out the usual large retail supermarkets. I was part of a group of 8 motorcyclists, who were staying to celebrate / commemorate the 80th anniversary of D Day Normandy landings. Also to visit local cemetaries to py respets to the fallen friens and brothers in arms who served with Grandfather in the 2nd WW and in prticular the normandy landings.Guest review byScott DexterUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Houlgate was the nicest discovery in the Normandy region.
Houlgate was the nicest discovery in the Normandy region. It's a small town/city that is absolutely beautiful, the beach is huge so its not crowded, one can walk for kilometres. The houses are perfectly restored and preserved as in the old times, because they have been passed from one generation in the family to another....and this for the last 400 years at least. People are VERY friendly, there are nice boutiques, and you find quite a few of top-rated restaurants; and otherwise, nice creperies and simple pizzerias (for all budgets). Houlgate is a must.Guest review byClara NavasBelgium - 8.0
An interesting small town which is easy to walk around.
An interesting small town which is easy to walk around. Architecture is very interesting and historical information is available. Parking is amazing - free! Plenty of interesting individual shops and a well stocked large supermarket on the outskirts on town. Nice restaurants and locals were very friendly. We had dinner at a traditional French restaurant - Le Vaucelles - very good - as well as The Eden Park Hotel overlooking the lake - excellent service there!Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We used the hotel as a one-night stop before travelling further south. Everything was as described and having a dog was not a problem (good sand dune walks). The small seaside town was very clean and there were decent restaurants and bars within 200 metres. There was a pleasant breakfast room. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the stop and will use the hotel againGuest review byPhilip
