The location is absolutely superb. The room was spacious, with a very big and comfortable bed. Every detail was thought out carefully and selected of premium quality. It was very peaceful and quiet and we had a wonderful stay. The food is a delight, have local produce and we had some snacks and drinks at the bar in the evening of our arrival. In the morning we headed downstairs and we were greeted by wonderful Claire that makes the best hot chocolate. The continental breakfast had so many delicious treats and options. The ambiance music was classic piano which it was so serene. Later on we had lunch in the terrace, which was exquisite whilst enjoying the sunshine. A must try is the feta with grilled peaches. A very good vibe, great surrounding atmosphere and Frank Sinatra in the background adding to the charm. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Claire and Jean Claude were the best- chapeau! We met the owner of the hotel and he is very friendly and approachable. Thank you for such a great experience in a magical place. No doubt we shall be back.

A quirky little hotel, toy themed, which is delightful for children of all ages! The welcome was warm, the parking spacious and safe, and the rooms were absolutely fine, with heating too which was good on a cool autumn evening. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. Dinner was really excellent and the service was superb. Nothing was too much trouble for the reception staff. Overall a very good choice and we would stay there again. Gap is such a picturesque place, with mountain views of course.

The location was good, you are very close to city center of Grasse, 30 min drive to Cannes, yet when you are at the hotel, you feel like you are 1000 km away from the crowd. Although it was rainy the day we stayed (we couldn’t enjoy the pool which looked nice) still didn’t lower our mood, we had some drinks at the garden. We had dinner at the hotel, it was our 25th year marriage anniversary. The dinner was 5 star fine dining. A little bit expensive, but we were expecting it. They made a gesture by taking our photo at the dinner, printed and placed it on a nice post card, wishing us many more years togather. It was nice💕 The room was nicely decorated, spacious, luxurious and very clean. Thank you.

Just like the pictures, everything was perfect It was not busy and calm. We rented a electric grill and had a bbq on the terrace with the view and it was amazing. If you are driving up from verdon gorge, the driving up is quite hard but from the accommodation to the nearest town isn’t bad and close by. I would definitely recommend and come back for longer stays The cabin was big enough for two but would be quite small for 4 adults

As it was still quite quiet when we visited we got a free room upgrade. Originally we had book a cheaper room in an old part of the hotel but we now got to stay in a completely renovated part for the same price. We did not even see the old part so I can't tell how that would have been, but the new part was very nice and elegant. The staff was really nice and friendly and they spoke good english.

We needed an overnight stop before heading into Italy. This is outside of town and very quiet. Lovely decorated and functional rooms and you had chairs outside for use as well. Restaurant on-site, which was expensive, but food was great. Balanced out as accom was so reasonably priced. Free parking.

Gap is a lovely place, but I would never - ever - recommend the Hôtel Restaurant Pavillon Carina to ANYONE. This is a nice, typical small town of the South of France. When we were there, it was the open air market, it was quite packed with tourists. We would have probably enjoyed the town itself more with less people, but at the same time it was a great atmosphere.

    We didn't like Grasse.

We didn't like Grasse. The old town was seedy and felt unsafe at night. During the day my husband and I took a walk around the town. We came across a very large square that was filled with only men - not a woman in sight. When we walked into the square, they all stopped and looked at me as if to say 'What is a woman doing here?'. It was very strange to experience this in France. At night we chose to stay in and cook rather than go to a restaurant simply because it did not feel safe.

I came to Digne because of its higher altitude hoping to be a few degrees cooler than other parts of southern France and also the lure of thermal baths. The baths have modern facilities and are a short bus ride out of town and are very clean with good attention paid to hygiene. They have good changing booths and security for belongings. The baths are closed only on Tuesdays. The New Saigon buffet restaurant is very good value. Digne has some interesting old streets to explore. The narrow guage train is a lovely scenic trip down to Nice.

Sisteron is in an amazing location - it really *is* the border of provence, and is quite visible in the vegetation, for example. The Citadelle itself is amazing, and well worth the visit (in spite of the number of steps for a lot of viewing). And for those of you who are vegetarian or vegan, Sisteron is lucky to have "O végé du Coin", where the organic food is innovative, and a real pleasure.

A great little French village with two good hotels and the excellent Cafe Napoleon. The locals are all so friendly; English language varies but with pigeon French you will get by easily. There's even a local cricket club if that is your thing. Transport is easy from the coast as there is a direct bus or a taxi will cost about 40 euros from the nearest train station. If you like walking then there are some amazing hills which are often the site for seeing hundreds of parasailers and the odd confused buzzard. If you have a couple of days to chill away from the Riviera then this is a great choice. A final word of warning... do not book the property called "Maisonnette en résidence avec piscine et tennis" as it is awful and does not look anything like the Booking.com photos and the owner will refuse any refunds point blank.

It's a charming town with narrow hilly streets. Enjoyed La Citadelle visit - the views from there are fantastic. The best restaurant we can recommend is L'Oppidum - we ended up eating there 3 times (2 lunches and dinner) during our 3-day trip. The other good restaurant was Brassero near the cathedral. There is a very good gift shop "La Taste".
