- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,317 reviewsThis magnificent building is a fabulous hotel. It is close to the promenade and has a fascinating history. The room we had was lovely with a view towards the beautiful garden. The architectural features are truly fascinating. The staff are next level. We went out to do our laundry and the dryer failed to work. We were left with a bag full of damp laundry. Clare and Michelle took our laundry and returned it dry and neatly folded the next morning. Gold standard service. Ann Marie was also lovely. Upon learning of our interest in art, she directed us to Rozelle House to see some great art and suggested the Burrell collection in Glasgow. We went to both and thoroughly enjoyed them. What a great result. Such an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.Guest review byDavidAustralia

Ayr is beautiful there’s some nice places to go and visit. We went to the Ayr farm park and seen the highland cows. We also walked to the pier and watched the sea. It’s so scenic. We had a Icecream in Ronaldo’s which was lovely and very well priced.Guest review byJenniferUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I love Irvine, the beach is beautiful and you have facilities there as well which is perfect, especially if you are taking children. I love the wee cafes along Harbour street but my favourite is Small Talk, love this cafe. The home baking is delicious! They also have a gluten free selection of cakes. I highly recommend you try this wee place. You have everything you need close by, its such a beautiful place.Guest review byKellyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Largs in beautiful for the views.
Largs in beautiful for the views. Going over too the island takes just a few minutes on the ferry and definitely worth a visit as its stunning. Fish and Chips from Fish works is the absolute best!! If you love haggis, try the viking chip shop for amazing battered haggis. Lots of different shops fro gifts and lots of charity shops if you like hunting for bargains. Beautiful little sweet shop too on the High Street. We went for the Viking Festival and although it was good, I don't think you need to spend the money on the tickets too see the burning of the boat because by the time you have got through the crowds too the ticket area the boat has already been burnt. Food and drinks at the festival stores are expensive but delicious. There are loads of market stalls there too selling all homemade items and cakes etc. The viking village is worth a visit too if that's your thing. Largs its self is lovely on a quite day. There is a large morriosns store within a few minutes drive from the centre or there is also coop and tesco express stores in the town centre. Largs is perfect from exploring that part of Scotland as lots too see within a short drive. I'm not sure about family activities as I don't have children.Guest review byKayleighUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Charming village on a beautiful bay, with views of the tallest peak on the island. Many interesting little shops, a terrific bakery, and a pub. But too few places are open to eat in the evenings. Easy to shop for groceries for self-catering.Guest review byEugeneUnited States - 8.0
I really liked Dean Castle and Kay Park.
I really liked Dean Castle and Kay Park. The Dick Institute is well worth the visit, nice to see the Johnny Walker exhibit. My Dad was a cooper for Walkers and brought back great memories. Since I grew up in Kilmarnock, much of the city is familiar so visiting the houses and streets that I frequented were a trip down memory lane. I enjoyed seeing the Burns Monument looking good once again. I have family photos of it being built and relatives enjoying visiting it in the 1960's. I could have spent more time in Kilmarnock and Riccarton exploring family history, maybe next time.Guest review byStuartUnited States - 10.0
This was our fifth stay at the fabulous Seamill Hydro.
This was our fifth stay at the fabulous Seamill Hydro. Sometimes we have travelled as a couple, sometimes with an elderly parent. We find the hotel to be superb in terms of comfort, cleanliness and value for money. The view across to the Isle of Arran is stunning and the food, both at breakfast and evening meal, is exceptional. The staff at the hotel are amazing and it's nice to see familiar faces when we return. A special mention to Blythe and Amanda on reception and to Rachel, John and Callum from the restaurant for their friendliness and excellent customer service.Guest review byJohn McLarenUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Lamlash is an excellent centre for touring round Arran with its fantastic and varied scenery. Easy access to mountains, beaches and all the facilities one needs to make a great holiday. And only a relatively short drive from the ferry port of Brodick.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Girvan is a magnificent wee town.
Girvan is a magnificent wee town. It’s a fair bit passed its sell date in terms of shops but the harbour, the sea front, the parks, and the golf course are all still fabulous. There are still a few decent places to eat and one or two decent old pubs too. If you are keen on hillwalking then it’s a great destination too being surrounded immediately by some cracking hills.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom
