dinner was th eonly bad thing about our stay --- everything else was just incredible... We waited about an hour fo rour food, and when steak delivered it was not tasty at all, no salt not cooked soft or nice, hard to cut to eat ... also no steak knife was provided ... But the hotel cleanness etc was great

First of all, I would like to highlight the great attention received by Eva, the person who cleans the rooms. Ana is an incredible person who treated my 3 year old son like a grandmother, my son, when we returned to the hotel, only looked for Ana, she also treated our dog great, because one day we had to leave her for a few hours and when we returned, she had put food, drink and arranged her resting place, it was incredible. but Ana has something for everyone and for us she gave us some incredible tips for our visit to legoland and offered us smiles and care throughout our stay and the truth is that we were sad to leave to go back to our lives as we appreciated so much love. when you arrive, they give you a welcome drink and it is formidable. The staff at the reception, bar and restaurant are very helpful and will help you with any queries you may have. The location is perfect, close to the centre of Winsor and a host of restaurants. The cleanliness is very good. Electric car charger available. We would like to thank all the staff for the way they treated us and especially Eva for the care she gave us.

Our stay at Oakley Court was absolutely incredible. The recent renovations are out of this world—hats off to the interior designers! The photos don’t do it justice; in real life, it's like stepping onto the set of a period drama. Think Bridgerton, Downton Abbey, or a Jane Austen film set in the heart of the English countryside. They’ve masterfully preserved the period features while blending in all the modern comforts. The entire property radiates elegance and calm, with a beautifully relaxed atmosphere throughout. Our room was spacious, gorgeously decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The food was excellent everywhere we dined, and the prices—whether for food, drinks, or accommodation—were surprisingly reasonable for such a high-end experience. Every single staff member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely. A special highlight was Soho River House—what a fabulous perk for hotel guests! A unique, stylish addition to an already perfect escape. I had a beautiful weekend with my two adult daughters and left feeling completely refreshed. We were positively surprised at every turn—everything exceeded our expectations. Worth every penny!

The location of the hotel is perfect, just a 5 minute stroll to the entrance to Windsor Castle and the main high street shopping area. In addition, turn left when leaving the hotel, cross the bridge and there is an excellent Cote Brasserie overlooking the Thames. Booked a standard room which was very spacious, comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom with a rain shower . Breakfast very good with a wide selection of choices both hot and cold. However, it's the staff that make this hotel such a wonderful place to stay, always smiling, polite and very professional. Highly recommended.

The Bear is a historic pub in Hungerford with well appointed modern rooms (albeit with lovely exposed beams), great water pressure, and everything you need. The staff were very helpful and secured our touring bicycles in their Functions Room. The meals were excellent. While previous hotel guest were offered the Crown of England, were were offered an enormous full English breakfast - which is MUCH better. We'd stay here again.

This place has had a serious re vamp . Having visited many times over the years there must be a recent change in management as the hotel has returned to its original superb level of hospitality. We didn't visit Reading.

We didn't visit Reading. We went a day before and a night after to Hanley-on-Thames with children. It was hardly 20-25 minutes drive and it was great outdoor activities combo area with various playground/ bouncy castle and riverside walk, various options available for boat hiring/ boat trips. Parking is quite tight in later hours of day, so I recommend if anyone like to visit here, try to reach in first half otherwise all two car parks get full too soon.

I always time my journey to the best earliest to try & avoid build up of traffic if driving in .once you have confirmed the Hotel you are staying in search ahead the day where you might eat .. get the most out of visit to Windsor Castle by having the head phones for in depth information on your trip around including St George’s Chaple the little shops there always delight with a gift or 2 to take home .. check out Runnymede Magna Carta just 20 minutes drive down the way & make a few hours to take in the HISTORY This should be as much fUN as The Castle -Explore old Windsor just across the river .. It would have been helpful for the restaurant to have sent the account to reception for checkout. We asked if there was anything left to pay and were told it was settled via booking.com. Perhaps if we had been asked for a credit card at check-in rather then we would not have been chased for payment of the meal some days later. Despite this - the food and hotel stay were great

This trip was a trip down memory lane as I was a student on Randolph-Macon Woman's College program at the University of Reading, 1975-76. I was last in Reading, July 2001. The University has obviously grown & changed, but the neighborhood around the Whiteknights Gate remains somewhat the same. Shout out to The Three Tuns, where the RMWC girls frequented. The historical sites in Reading are well worth exploring as are the surrounding areas, such as Sonning, Woking.
