FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

I've been coming to London every year since 1999 and I'm a British Citizen and can sadly say it's decline is evident. So sad to see this once great city falling into a state of decay and neglect and I really feel for the Brits who love the place they call home. Shame. Having said that , Once you've seen the mandatory sites in the Capital, get out and go see the country towns which are epic, steeped in history and culture and provide a real slice of what this country is about.Guest review byMatthewAustralia - 10.0
Such a vibrant city with so much to see and do.
Such a vibrant city with so much to see and do. Enjoyed the Frog & Bucket comedy club, the Football Museum and a trip down to Media City and the Lowry Exhibition. Tram service was really good and easy to get around.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Liverpool is my home city and loved going back to stay in the heart of the city. We live in Australia now and it was nice to hear so many Scouse accents and see friendly faces. We visited family and friends, so it was a good base to stay at 😉Guest review bySteveAustralia - 2.0
Birmingham a complete dump.
Birmingham a complete dump. Never been before and will certainly never go again. Rubbish everywhere. Road signs suggested very unpleasant goings on. A real eye opener and sad to see in our country such a mess.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The location was perfect for flying out the next morning.
The location was perfect for flying out the next morning. We did choose to pay for the shuttle to Terminal 5, rather than haul our luggage on the free train. It's a very nice hotel, the room was small but comfortable for 1 night, and the beds were fine, though a little on the firm side as the English seem to like. We had a very nice Indian dinner at the Urban Brass conveniently located in the hotel lobby. The Indian choices were authentic and delicious, not overly spicy as Indian food goes. I think the Indian choices are better than the English side of the menu, as it is primarily Indian with a very friendly staff from India. I would recommend this hotel.Guest review byMarilynUnited States - 10.0

Best places to visit include the SS Great Britain and the M Shed (a free to enter museum) which are quite close together along the waterfront. Also the cathedral was vey interesting. Lots of cafes and restaurants everywhere. Use of the water ferry a bonus to get from place to place. We even used the ferry to get to the railway station at the end of our trip.Guest review byJoyceUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Leeds is a city full of culture historic buildings and places and university. The areas near the river are getting more regeneration to make it attractive to locals and tourists. It’s buzzing with young people and night life. There’s a range of galleries and museums ,the library is a must visit . The variety of Restaurants and cafes offer satisfaction to all tastes and ages.
