These guys are nailing the perfect service that there’s no way you’d get in so many other places. The proprietors and every one of their amazing team, are friendly, polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast was bang on. Garden space for nice evenings. A lovely little daytime bar. Parking spaces. On the front. Don’t let folks saying about noise put you off, seagulls are present, yes, as they are in all seaside towns, I think in any hotel you’d hear them around! We didn’t have any problem with noise, in fact I couldn’t believe how quiet it was after 10:30pm, and we stayed a three night weekend. Absolutely loved it. Keep doing what you’re doing, you work long days, and go the extra mile for people. We had an amazing weekend, and can’t thank you all enough. Claire and Jo.

We stayed here after going to the football - and the location is a little out the way (not really any eateries or small stores around) but it was so modern, I loved the space. The room, the gym, and the staff were superb. We were lucky to have a room with a view over Anfield.

FAQs about hotels in England

The Small Country with Big Appeal

For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.

Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.

Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.

With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

Such a friendly, helping and lovely staff at Avon Hotel. They helped us with everyting we needed, city instructions,Oyster cards, socket adapter, taxi for the airport.I felt so sorry I didnt had the chance to say goodbay with a big hug because of the early hour we left.I recomand Avon Hotel,it is closed to eveeything,15- 20 min to anywhere you wished to go.The Paddington station is 3 min walk.We only used the undergound and not the bus.The Hyde Park is 5- 10 min walk and it is amazing to visit. We basically walked from Hyde Park to Victoria station. The breakfast was also very good and tasty, with coffee, orange juice, tea, fruits. In London it is not easy to find a hotel which offers also breakfast, therefore for this location is a plus and it is something what we were looking for when choosing the hotel.Highly recomomend Avon Hotel!

The grounds are stunning, it’s a really beautiful place to stay. The bedrooms are big and the staff are all lovely and helpful. It’s a short walk to the beach and in to St Ives. It’s hilly but doable if you are moderately fit. We managed it carrying paddle boards! I’ll definitely be back- we really loved our stay.

Big Ben and other places around Parliament Square. London’s parks. National Gallery. All great. …Hop on hop off Thames river trip. Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Expensive to eat so go to Saintsburys supermarkets and Cleggs. Get around on foot and see the Squares n architecture. Tourists everywhere. Many homeless people on sidewalks.

I came to see Lady Gaga perform at Co-Op Live on Wednesday...

I came to see Lady Gaga perform at Co-Op Live on Wednesday 8th October 2025, a new arena in the city. If there's an event on there, the arena is very well connected to the rest of the city via the trams. Make sure to check out The Northern Quarter, it's an area full of independent bars, restaurants and shops. Vintage shops? They've got them. Afflecks is another personal highlight. Like your vinyl? Lots of vinyl record shops there. Street art - it's there. I'd love to try a workshop at The Manchester Craft and Design Centre next time. Make sure you eat and drink at the many independent restaurants dotted around the city, you've got all of the national chains back in your hometown. I found the tram system to be a true joy - you simply tap in and out as you go and the compact city centre is very walkable. I felt very safe walking around after dark, but being mindful of my surroundings of course. You will see the worker bee around a lot, it's a symbol of the city's industrial past and a huge part of its identity. If you are a football fan, then you do need to go and do a stadium tour of the two big teams of the city. If you're a member of the LGBTQIA+ community like myself, it's a city that is very welcoming and you can be yourself there. Mancunians are very very friendly, fiercely proud of their city and you can see why.
