- From US$112.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,117 reviewsAn out of the ordinary experience staying at a place with such a long history, while walking the narrow floors and climbing the stairs you can feel the past centuries. The room was excellent, a lot of space with a big bathroom. The location is quite good being only a few minutes from the castle or the seaside. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was fine, not a lot of things on the menu but I suppose these are the things that locals usually eat for a good start of the day.Guest review byTamásGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 621 reviewsAnd two of my best friends traveled for a short vacation. We had high expectations but the Royal Goat succeeded them by far. We arrived late, (after checking hours). The staff prepared a letter with keys to make sure we got our room for the night. When waking up for breakfast we were welcomed by great staff. The breakfast will make us come back! This is a great place to go hiking and enjoy a short/longer vacation.Guest review byGustavSweden
- From US$275.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 139 reviewsSuch a unique experience staying in a beautifully restored 600-year-old farmhouse B & B. Host/chef Robin is a fascinating person and we loved chatting with him. The meals we had (paid dinner and included breakfast) in front of the medieval fireplace were simply outstanding—the best we had in Wales. (Robin very kindly accommodated us for dinner when we had overlooked an email inviting us to preorder.)Guest review byNicoleCanada

You can never have too long in Llanberis area!
You can never have too long in Llanberis area! The mountains & lakes are stunning, and there is so much else to explore too. Snowdonia has a magical quality to it that makes it so special. Llanberis is also a great base from which to explore outlying places e.g. during my trip, as well as completing my main goals of climbing Snowdon and Tryfan, I took daytrips from Llanberis to Caernarfon and Anglesey on one day and Llandudno & Conwy on the other, visiting castles, National Trust properties and beaches on teh way. The various driving routes to and from these places back to Llanberis were a joy in themselves. The nearby Pen-y-Gwryd hotel is so interesting, steeped in mountaineering / Everest history - although it was lovely to have the place almost to myself to look around, it is a shame it is not promoted a bit more as a place to visit for a cup of tea / place to stay.Guest review bySerenaUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Not very wonderful and absolutely dead after seven in the evening - we couldnt find anywhere to eat and finally had to settle for fish and chips in the car. Unfortunately, the tide was in both morning and evening and apart from nearer the harbour, there was no sand left to walk on We drove a few miles further towards Harlech and found a good sandy beach there although you had to pay for parking..Guest review byFelicityUnited Kingdom - 10.0

With several heritage railways in close proximity and access by train, Porthmadog should be a must on any Train enthusiast ‘List of places to go’. My son has been talking about the FFestiniog railway (Rheilffyrdd FFestiniog ac Eryri) for many years. We were finally able to make the trek and we were excited to see it all. We could have spent 3-4 days going on the different excursions. Plan on getting into the Boston Lodge railway works for a tour there also.Guest review byJohn - 6.0

A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need of some government cash to bring more people in. We've never been in such a quiet city centre on a Saturday night; plenty of pubs, not enough people! So many Turkish barbers, so few decent restaurants...and no hotels! Plenty of take-out eateries, but that's not what tourists need! Lovely setting, Welsh government: you're missing out on tourism in Bangor, so splash the cash and glam it up...decent restaurants, a couple of hotels and a modern bar or two. The city should be very grateful for the Black Bull, JD Wetherspoon's, the only busy pub in town!Guest review byAnnetteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I was only there for one evening and 1 day and spent a few hours in the town, I found the people to be friendly and the town small but charming and very picturesque. Nice shops and pubs and a great antique/ second hand shop.Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom - 6.0

If you are looking for an amazing beach with great dunes for long walks Aberdyfi is great. Other than that it is a very quiet seaside town with a few shops and places to eat. There is a train station that can take you along the coast, also a golf club and a bowling clubGuest review byAmandaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake.
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake. It seems to consist mainly of one high Street with various shops, pubs and eateries. The lake is beautiful. We hired a double kayak which cost 40.00ph and the whole hiring process was super easy. We also did the steam train ride along the lake which was lovely. There's lots more to explore so I'd definitely go back for a couple of days and explore the area some more.Guest review bysueUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Criccieth is worth a visit. Residents very helpful and friendly. Quite hilly in parts. Beach was lovely and clean. Take shop opening times with a pinch of salt 😉 A small, quiet village feel but enough to keep you occupied.Guest review byFletcherUnited Kingdom
