I had a wonderful stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. My room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Not to mention the exceptional restaurant (listed in the Michelin Guide, which speaks for itself) and the beautiful Sunday roast I enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Derbyshire!

We loved the historical buildings of Sheffield.

We loved the historical buildings of Sheffield. There was a treat round every corner. The Town Hall is beautiful and the Gentleman at the door was so informative and helpful. The Peace gardens are lovely the Cathedral is stunning . Sheffield City Hall amazing and we got to see BoomtownRats, Winter Garden and it's charming shops. So much to see. A must to Visit.

Lovely town with historic buildings and scenery. We arrived by train, walked around the town a lot but it wasn't easy to visit places outside of the town. We've had a hire care. We'll visit there again but by our own car.

Chesterfield is close to lots of other beautiful towns and villages and of course the fantastic scenery. Chesterfield is a large place and for us, we prefer the smaller towns like Bakewell and Matlock, but there is everything you need in Chesterfield and a great place to visit the surrounding areas of the Peak District

It was fun.

It was fun. We took the cable car, which is pretty expensive, but the cavern tour was great. Matlock Baths is like Blackpool - all slot machines and fish and chips, but the other part was much nicer. Worth a visit.

Tuesday, when we arrived, everything is closed in the evening. We couldn't find a restaurant to eat in, a lot of the pubs were closed early as it was late in the season, the ones open were full. Beautiful place though, loved it. It seemed a very safe place to wander about and everyone was very friendly. My daughter and I looked like the only ones without at least one dog. Try Bakewell pudding.

We soon realised that Castleton was probably the best place to stay in the area. An excellent centre for walking and a bonus was the Tourust information Centre with its cafes. 7 pubs so finding one for a meal was not a problem. We went to one cafe down a side street and ate at t the George further along the same street. Both good. Also the sandwiches etc at the deli in the main street can be highly recommended We aim to return to Castleton. An ideal centre for exploring the Peak Natonal Park.

Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct towering overhead makes for a very unusual and intriguing town. Also most interesting are the timber frame houses one finds from Tudor times. Lots of pubs and not generic ones either.
