Located in the heart of historic Arundel and the perfect position to explore the town. Greeted warmly by Maggie upon arrival and throughout our stay. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cosy and we found everything we needed. Excellent bed and we both slept very well. We will not hesitate to stay here again when next in the area.

It is such an interesting town and quite hilly, i walked in and visited the cathedral and the castle both were amazing. The castle was huge but was expensive to visit but it does not disappoint. The gardens are also amazing and lovely to see. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who is down that way to visit.

Lewes is very good as a place to stay if you are interested in history or just like browsing local shops. It also has excellent railway connections so you can get to Brighton, Hastings, Eastbourne and up into Sussex by public transport. It is hilly and a good base if you want to explore the South Downs by walking. A good range of restaurants, pubs and cafes too.

Access to the beach is not too difficult for someone whose joints creak a bit. A long slope with hand rail is helpful. Our sunny but bracing walk along the prom was enlivened by cheerful visitors and dogs . The outdoor cafe afforded shelter from the wind and good coffee. After 2 hours we walked slowly into the village and were charmed by the buildings and quirky shops, the Grange library and art gallery, duck pond and church with Burne Jones windows. We found very clean toilets inside the church too. Thanks for this.We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Rottingdean.

The spa was very well apportioned and it was very quiet and secluded. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely pleasant. One thing they must do in the restaurant is ensure that the wine ordered has arrived and ready to drink before the food is served. It is not good form to serve the food without the wine bottle even being at the table, let alone not opened.

Pulborough is a really quiet picturesque area.

Pulborough is a really quiet picturesque area. There are lots of opportunities for nature walks and, if you’re living in the city like I am, it’s great to get out and be around quiet for a time. The area also has several beautiful venues for weddings, which is why I went and discovered the area. It’s great if you’re looking for a cute charming village getaway. It would definitely be easier to travel around by car, but we walked everywhere and were able to manage and enjoy the views.

We arrived late evening but they were very accomodating and friendly. Our room was comfortable, clean and had amazing shower. Despite being attached to a pub and a party going on - it was relatively quite. Breakfast was not to disapoint either - very good. A lovely place to stay. We will be coming back!

Besides having time with an old friend who lives in Steyning, I especially enjoyed walking up onto the Downs (via the Upper Horseshoe trail) and admiring the wonderful view of the Downs and the sea and the Weald of Sussex. I was impressed by the Community Orchard and the conservation scheme to re-establish species-rich chalk grassland. I made good use of the buses - would have been stranded without them! I enjoyed a brief visit to the parish church and was sorry not to have more time to have a good look round the museum. I enjoyed a good meal in an Italian restaurant near the Clock Tower.
