We stayed for a week and had plenty of time to explore the local museum (you have to do the roundhouse tour), the Isle of Whithorn, the cliffs with the singing seals, Wigtown, the beach at Garlieston... all on foot and by public bus. No mass tourism, everyone is super friendly and accommodating.

Located in Newton Stewart in the Dumfries and Galloway region, Ochiltree cottage provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. This holiday home features a garden.

We stayed here 19 years ago, and decided to return. Everything was exactly the same as previous. The accommodation is extremely well kept and maintained to a high standard. It's slightly smaller than "The Pend" next door but the kitchen in The Precinct House" is stunning with a large Electric Aga which I've loved cooking on. Shower room/Toilet is very neat and tidy. And upstairs both bedrooms are beautifully decorated. We will go back a little bit sooner next time.
