- From $77.39 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 77 reviewsThe hotel is within a 10-15 minute walk to the harbor. The entrance to the hotel is quite pleasant, and the presence of books is a significant plus. From the moment we made the reservation, the staff was in constant communication with us regarding our potential needs. Dimitra welcomed us early in the morning when we arrived and handed us our room. The room was spacious, airy, and clean. Having a mosquito net on the balcony was a great advantage. We rented a car through their family business, Evdokia, and received detailed and practical information about getting to the harbor, traffic, and more. (Thanks again, Fani :) ) The restaurant below the hotel looked very inviting. Fani and Marios extended an invitation to their table, and we thoroughly enjoyed their wonderful company. I would like to express my gratitude once again.Guest review byElifTurkey
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 137 reviewsThe staff set this hotel aside. Part of the reason we always return to the Greek Islands is the hospitality but the staff at Vigla have taken that to the next level. Nothing was ever a problem, everything was done with the utmost professionalism all while maintaining a friendly, family feeling. I would recommend this place to anyone and guarantee it will make your holiday better. Huge thanks to all the staff looking after us. That includes picking us up at the Aegali port , looking after us at breakfast each morning, booking us a hire car at very short notice, right to our 5am transfer to Katapola for the early ferry. (We were even given a take-away breakfast the night before to keep us going.) I can't fault any part of our stay. The food is great, the bar is great, the hotel should be on your list!Guest review bySK1980.United Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 91 reviewsThe view of the bay from our terrace was breathtaking and we felt so lucky to wake up to that every morning and enjoy it while having breakfast. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. We particularly like the shower with hot water all the time . The place was very quiet, ideal for relaxing. We had a car to explore the island, still unspoilt and charming and the beaches in October were deserted and the sea warm and so clear .Theo is a very good host and his wife makes beautiful painted stones . We already dream of going back to this greek paradise! We knew it would be great but we didn't know it would be so wonderful!Guest review bySylvieUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 269 reviewsThis is an excellent hotel. The manager, Andreas, did everything to make our stay enjoyable and easy — even providing free taxi service to and from the ferry port, and to local restaurants. The rooms are well appointed with coffee machine, fridge, hot plate and other kitchen essentials. Very comfortable beds. Efficient heating (we visited in early May and it was quite chilly). The breakfasts were excellent with great choices of bread, pastries, yogurt, juice, coffee, etc. Outstanding views from the room balconies.Guest review byAlexanderUnited States

This is in my opinion the best location for a stay in Amorgos. The village has everything you need including a lovely sandy beach, great selection of bars and restaurants and a good mix of accommodation. Great walking can be had in the hills behind, exploring villages and amazing views. You can get a ferry direct to the port, but it depends which company you go with. Many only drop in Katapola in which case you will need to get a bus/taxi or hire a car. The island is in fact very long, so a car is a good idea in any caseGuest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
EXCELLENT value for money.
EXCELLENT value for money. Host so caring and intetested in his guests. The corner restaurant was very good for an evening meal and the gyros place was great value for money..Bakeries wonderful. You must visit Chora but check where the bus stops to return to port.Guest review byNolaNew Zealand - 10.0

Wonderful place with little tourists, amazing views on the sea, authentic food and atmosphere. Never felt so agreeably remote from modern life, without any compromise on comfort at the places we stayed. However be prepared for the bad roads and the poor direction indications - have your GPS ready.Guest review byDavidSwitzerland - 10.0
This was an adorable little town.
This was an adorable little town. There was a little shopping (like a few stores) and some great restaurants. The area is not too touristy. Our kids met up with the local kids every night to play soccer and that absolutely made the trip fantastic for all of us. What a special memory. 2-3 nights here is fine.Guest review byJenniferUnited States - 10.0
Great beaches and a hillwalkers paradise.
Great beaches and a hillwalkers paradise. Around Aegiali there is a coastal trail to several beaches, there are trails to two nearby mountain villages which are connected by another trail between them, one has a trail to a high mountain church which could be difficult for vertigo sufferers. There is another longer trail running down the spine of the island which I intend to go back and do. Beach photo taken from taverna at Lebressos, Aegiali port in distance. Other two are Stavros church high on Krikellos and section of path to get there.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches ( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhereGuest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0
We really enjoyed our time in Aegiali.
We really enjoyed our time in Aegiali. We had a great place to stay in with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The beach is very close as are the hiking trails. So many great restaurants in Aegiali. We also really appreciated that it was peaceful and everyone was friendly. Many come here to hike the trails and we took advantage of this exploring the surrounding villages.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 8.0
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.Guest review byYiannaV.Cyprus
