Beautiful hotel and room. The staff was very friendly! They recommended us on restaurants which appeared to be great. The breakfast was very rich. There is a underground parking lot. The location is in the center of a star trip, and 10 minutes driving from Hania center.

Centuries of History, Days of Sunshine

The largest Greek island, mountainous Crete has stunning beaches, plenty of history and as much or little nightlife as you want. Party town Malia has many bars, clubs and restaurants on its Strip.

Along the coast is the capital Heraklion, a bustling city home to many Crete hotels on the beach, and a Venetian castle guarding its port. Its archaeological museum includes finds from the island’s Minoan era, while just inland are the Roman remains of Knossos.

Also boasting a Venetian castle is Rethymnon, a popular resort with a good number of Crete hotels with private pools on Booking.com. Loggerhead turtles nest in season on the sandy beaches here and at Chania, an important port with an attractive waterfront set against the backdrop of mountains.

On the other side of the island is Aghios Nikolaos, a small fishing town with a picturesque harbour. Just north is Elounda, a popular family resort, and offshore is Spinaloga island, inspiration behind the book ‘The Island’. Matala in the south has a bohemian vibe and intriguing cliff dwellings, while Paleokastro in the east borders Europe’s largest palm forest at Vai.

    We loved every minute of our stay. From the minute we walked in, we loved it. I believe it is the most beautiful reception I have ever seen - the ocean as a backdrop is just picture perfect. The lobby smelled amazing and we were welcomed in the most hospitable manner. The service was outstanding - it was more than the usual friendly and polite service, everyone made us feel welcome and well taken care of. They service we experienced was true hospitality with heart. The breakfast had the most amazing selection. The views all around the resort are incredible - starting from the lobby, to the room, to the pool, we loved that you could see the ocean from almost every angle.     A wonderful hotel! Although Google Maps showed it as a two-star hotel, it definitely deserves at least four. The apartments are newly furnished with a beautiful design. Breakfast could perhaps have a bit more variety, but everything was tasty. The beach is excellent, with comfortable sunbeds, and the bar is open from early morning until late at night — something the neighboring hotel didn’t have.     We booked this while we were already in Crete and didn`t checked a lot befor booking. When we arrived we were absolutely amazed! The hotel is located in an amazing spot, great views, beach, pools, restaurant and rooms. We were upgraded to a suite and it was awesome, everything clean, the staff was always nice and helpful. All inclusive is definitely worth it, we even decided to stay more days after our first booking. Definitely the place you want to stay in Crete.

    The room was spectacular, large, light and comfortable. Huge king-size bed with a single as well. Outdoor space was lovely, two sun loungers, two chairs, two tables and an umbrella. Then the pool! Staff were so friendly and kind everywhere. The food was brilliant, lots of choice and different places to eat. We had a birthday on our last day, 4 cakes were offered! Even a cake with candle at breakfast. A very special hotel.

    The old town and harbour are stunning- really picturesque...

    The old town and harbour are stunning- really picturesque with a happy, vibrant vibe, lots to see and loads of small, independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The challenge is trying to find one’s way back to any particular shop, as the Old Town is such a maze of narrow cobbled streets with quaint, pretty houses. I had been told it’s a great place to visit but it vastly exceeded my expectations.

    Heraklion has a lot of car and bike traffic. It is like peak hour in Sydney constantly. Parking is horrendous. I would recommend staying out of Heraklion. Drive to Knossos Palace, but go early. The other attraction for us was the Archaeological Museum. Get a uber or taxi to that. The foreshore looks like they gave up on it years ago. After Chania, Heraklion was a disappointment.

    It was about a ten minutes walk uphill part way to Koutouloufari, loads of restaurants and bars, a fabulous experience. Walk a little further and you come to Piscopiano, also excellent. Walk down the hill and you come to restaurants with Greek dancing and plate smashing, also excellent.

    The Old Town is full of history and narrow streets that need to be explored. There are so many excellent eating places to choose from with cocktail bars and ice cream shops you could eat somewhere different every night for weeks. Favourites include Cafe Galero and Taverna MInares. The Venetian Harbour is lovely walk with restaurants all round The front by the Old Town has plenty of bars which in the evening are full of young people enjoying themselves and although there is music its not too loud as you go past. All along the beach are cafes and bars which offer a good selection for all day eating. Having stayed there a week I now prefer it to Chania, much more going on in an easier access area and less crowded. (unless cruise ship in which is much less often- long may it stay that way)

    I’ve visited many times and never tire of the setting, food options and hospitality of locals. The harbour and lake are great for sitting and watching plus artisan shops offer unique items. It’s real Greece

    Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local...

    Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local charm. The nightlife was a pleasant surprise, with cozy bars and lively tavernas where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Evening walks through the town square and the nearby streets filled with local shops and traditional products were some of the highlights of our stay. It's a great place for couples looking for a laid-back yet authentic Cretan experience.

    Difficult to judge because we came early in the season when there was a cold wind blowing and not all the places were open. However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] . There were a number of apparently abandoned and ill-maintained buildings, which made the place appear less attractive.

    Malia is a great base for exploring eastern Crete,as it is well served by public transport,car hire is easy and reasonable,but if you just want to eat,drink ,sunbathe and play in a pool,on a beach or in a club or bar it is great too.

    Palaiochora is a little piece of Paradise.

    Palaiochora is a little piece of Paradise. Fantastic beaches , food and scenery. We hired a car and drove around the area, a little scary as the roads in the mountains are rather challenging. We hope to return to this very romantic location some day .

    lovely holiday spot, plenty of shops and restaurants, everyone extremely friendly and helpful. About an hour from airport, went to spinalonga and did a few walks, also did the 4 hour train ride which was lovely to see mountains, bit of history etc, wasnt too hot. Both of the bays were good and safe for swimming - one of them a bit pebbly getting in, the other was fine. Supermarkets well stocked. Elounda is flat so easy for walking although pavements a little bumpy. All very accessible and walkable
