- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 82 reviewsAri the agreeable on-site manager set out coffee, milk, butter, honey and fresh bread from nearby Stella's bakery every morning on the big table and invariably stayed to chat away in English. In fact it was Ari's hospitality, friendship and willingness to provide any small extras a guest might wish for that made our stay at Kalypso Studios much more than we expected.Guest review byKevinUnited Kingdom
- From US$54.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 363 reviewsThis is not a 10-for-style place. The rooms are fairly basic. But this is Gavdos. An island which is largely closed…especially in May. But this place is the shining light. Lovely welcome. Maria is simply extraordinary…manager…waitress…builder…painter…taxi-driver…etc etc…whilst her lovely Mum looks after the kitchen.Guest review byNeilNew Zealand
- From US$63.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 358 reviewsI really liked the style of the stonehouse! A very pieceful place where you can rest after a hot beach day. Our room had everything we need and the bed was comfy. Some walking minutes away you can find the beach with various mini markets and taverns.Guest review byJovana TodorovAustria

Very different, quite organised when you get there.
Very different, quite organised when you get there. Quiet and peaceful and simple. People are super friendly and communication was no issue. Getting round the island was simple with a scooter and a good pair of sturdy shoes for the hikes.Guest review byPatrickUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It’s like being at the end of the world.
It’s like being at the end of the world. A “Land That Time Forgot.” A place to unplug and disconnect. Experience it before it becomes developed and commercialized like other Greek island or places like Key West, Florida and Provincetown, Massachusetts.Guest review byAnastasiosGreece - 10.0

Going to Gavdos means to leave one's comfort zone, although the island's infrastructure has improved a lot, nothing comparable with 25 years ago. Even in summer time and even having daily connections does not mean that the boat will arrive from mainland Crete; winds may change every day and connections may be cancelled on a short notice. Nevertheless if you want to see something new, still quite unspoilt, if you want to hike, especially to Europe's southernmost point, if you want to enjoy lonely beaches, you might feel well on that island.Guest review byStefanGermany
