staff caring about making your stay the best possible we had an issue with the taxi driver at the arrival to the airport (booked in advance through the Hotel), they upgraded our room for free as a compensation. definitely appreciated. Everything was absolutely beautiful at St Ten Village. It’s a lovely family-run business that truly makes you feel at home. The whole place is like a little village within the village – from the stylish rooms to the cozy and charming atmosphere and architecture, everything is thoughtfully designed. The food was a real highlight - everything was super fresh and homemade using local products. We loved the restaurant, where every day you’ll find “mama’s cooking” – delicious traditional dishes - one or two specials, always fresh and super tasty. Highly recommend trying it! The rooms: beautifully designed, spacious, bright, each with a little terrace. They had everything we could wish for — a fully equipped kitchen, a gorgeous bathroom, and a super comfortable bed. The host gave us great tips for nearby activities and beaches, which made our stay even better. The whole family is incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel relaxed and completely on holiday. We’ll definitely be back!

    The service was truly great. Small details are the key to good impression. The lady on the check in provided us the family room a few hours earlier upon our arrival, she also made us a gift - a nice beach bag with the hotel logo, we used it with pleasure. At the welcome bar we received good quality espresso. The food at the main restaurant was always fresh, many options for any taste. Seaview location with amazing sunsets and a nice promenade. Sports activities during the whole day for our three teenage kids. Smiling personell.

    I stayed only one night at Aquila Atlantis Hotel but I really enjoy it. Very clean room, comfy bed, balcony with a great view over the harbor. The location of the hotel is amazing, in the city center, within walking distance to the the harbor, old town, Central Bus Station and shops. The Archeological Museum is right behind the hotel. Nice pool area especially the one on the top of the building with a view to the Koules Fortress, but I didn't stay long enough to use it.

    The location was amazing, right next to the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a flight stike and our flights got cancelled.     Heraklion has a lot of car and bike traffic.

    Heraklion has a lot of car and bike traffic. It is like peak hour in Sydney constantly. Parking is horrendous. I would recommend staying out of Heraklion. Drive to Knossos Palace, but go early. The other attraction for us was the Archaeological Museum. Get a uber or taxi to that. The foreshore looks like they gave up on it years ago. After Chania, Heraklion was a disappointment.

    Difficult to judge because we came early in the season when there was a cold wind blowing and not all the places were open. However, there didn't seem to be many places to eat [not a problem for us as there was one excellent place, though would be a problem peak season] . There were a number of apparently abandoned and ill-maintained buildings, which made the place appear less attractive.

    Malia is a great base for exploring eastern Crete,as it is well served by public transport,car hire is easy and reasonable,but if you just want to eat,drink ,sunbathe and play in a pool,on a beach or in a club or bar it is great too.

    The hotel complex is well laid out.

    The hotel complex is well laid out. Although set in a hill there are plenty of lifts if you don't like using stairs. The rooms are spacious and cleaned daily. Bathrooms are modern and clean. It's a great place to just relax by the pool by the bar or on your balcony. It's north facing so full sun in the morning. There is a good gym and a beauty spa. The evening entertainment is varied and of a good standard. A lot of the shows are held in an open air ampitheatre ideal for a summers evening. There is a regular bus run by the hotel down to the local beach which is helpful as the road down is steep and narrow. The restaurant is excellent. The choice and quality of food is outstanding and delicious. The staff are helpful and always have a smile on their faces. If you like an all inclusive holiday where you can laze around be active then this is highly recommended.

    Matala is something different and when you there you just fell in love. Of course if you are looking for the crystal clear water, Matala is not the one, even though the surronding landscape is something beautiful. Nights in Matala can't be boring. There is always something to do and have fun. It is defenitley worth a visit.

    A quiet area, but the beach close by is not the best (still ok if you wanna just refresh a bit) and you need the car if you want to see and explore more (even in the surroundings). There are buses, though, to move to/from major points of interest. The location I chose (Kri-Kri Village) was perfect and I had the best time! Extremely relaxing, chill vibe and you can reach great beaches not far. Suggested!

    Lovely resort with loads of different bars, restaurants and tavernas to suit everyone. Not rowdy or loud. Beaches are good with some places offering free sunbeds. Plenty of different hotels to choose from. A trip up the mountain to Mochos is recommended on a Wednesday night for Greek night. It’s in a square surrounded by tavernas for all to enjoy the entertainment. It’s recommended you get someone to book a table in one of the tavernas as it’s very busy. We got a taxi up it took about 15 mins and was 15 euros.

    Karteros is a convenient location, especially because it’s close to the airport. The beach has some organized areas with sunbeds, but it gets very busy during the summer peak season, particularly on Sundays when many locals also head to the beaches. The sunbeds tend to get taken quickly, so if you miss out, you can still relax on the sand—but bringing your own umbrella is a good idea for some shade.

    Of the 3 major cities, Heraklion has the most interesting sites and museums - especially the Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Science . Rethymnon was the most relaxing and romantic. Chania was far too touristy, but the Natural History Museum is excellent with exhibits well-titled in English
