We loved the hike up to Palamidi Fortress & the views are even better. The walk on the shore path was incredible as you are greeted by kitties, cactus pear & turquoise waters! We went to NERAKI BEACH & enjoyed swimming with the locals & some little cute striped fishies:) The Saturday Food Market & flea market was also fun. You may snag a designer shirt for 1 Euro or grab whatever produce looks ripe to eat. Lastly,I highly recommend breakfast at Pension Dafni & Aiolos Tavern for Grape leaves & Giant Greek Beans!Guest review byHeleneUnited States - 10.0

Kalamata is a good base for a relaxing holiday, especially the Pharae hotel regular buses to the town, flat walk along the beach, buses at end of season get less, hiring a car several nearby areas well worth exploring or even a one night stay, depending on your interestsGuest review bycaroleUnited Kingdom - 8.0

From here, you can use a bus to reach Kiato, Corinth and Athens very cheaply. It is a beautiful town with nice monuments and ancient traditions. Pleasant city, active nightlife, many shops and excellent cuisine. From the Gulf of Patra you enter the Peloponnese. It is the right place to start a trip to Greece if you arrive by ferry from Italy, either with your own vehicle or simply on foot.Guest review byGiovanni RemondiniItaly - 10.0
its a must to see Monemvasia.
its a must to see Monemvasia. The rock looks difficult to walk buy its not and its worth. In and around Monemvasia the people are always smiling, happy and easy going. Nobody should miss this beautiful place on earth.Guest review byNavigator SEMSwitzerland - 10.0
Loutraki is a nice place for relaxation and pampering.
Loutraki is a nice place for relaxation and pampering. You could swim at Loutraki beach. Be aware that the beach has big pebbles. It is more comfortable to have water shoes with you. In addition, you could pamper yourself at Loutraki thermal spa. At the beach road, there are many different restaurants, taverns, cafeterias for every pocket.Guest review byΧΡΗΣΤΟΣGreece - 10.0
A great little holiday town, with a nice, safe beach.
A great little holiday town, with a nice, safe beach. Gently sloping sand, perfect for swimming. Great variety of restaurants, serving fresh and tasty food. Handy supermarkets, grocers and bakeries if self catering.Guest review byStevenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Go when not so crowded or hot.
Go when not so crowded or hot. We did well at end of September. I highly recommend if you have a car to do a free Olive Oil tour & tasting at OILYPIAN Koufolias Olive Oil Mill about 15 min away from town. I also loved OLYBEEA for family run local honey which you may sample before you buy! Have a meal up the hill (you can walk but best with car) at The Garden :) You will dine under olive trees & get a great view. Try to eat around sunset for a treat!Guest review byHeleneUnited States - 10.0

You need to find time to discover the island and walk through all the little streets. I don't necessarily recommend a walking tour of the island, like we did, but with enough water and the right shoes, it can be a pleasant adventure.Guest review byIuliaRomania - 10.0
Gythio was phenomenal, a true gem of the Peloponnese!
Gythio was phenomenal, a true gem of the Peloponnese! Everything you need, from high end restaurants to wonderful shops. Very tourist friendly town. Amazing views of the sea from every angle! Saga Fish Restaurant in Gythio is an absolute must for seafood. We were a five minute drive from Gythio. We stayed at Thirides Beach Resort. Highly recommend for all travelers visiting that part of Greece!Guest review byMarinaUnited States - 8.0
I love Korinthos. For maybe idiosyncratic reasons.
I love Korinthos. For maybe idiosyncratic reasons. It is close to Athens, so if you fly in and rent a car for a long drive; this is a close stopover rest city for a couple of days if you don't want the chaos of driving into Athens from the airport with jetlag. I always do Athens on the way out, and Korinthos is always my first night. The nightlife is local and late-night. The beaches are local and easy, laid-back. It never feels touristy to me.Guest review byRachelCanada
