- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 392 reviewsHe who looks for faults will find them. We are not like that. Our pool room was so good that we had no need to leave it. The hotel has all kinds of facilities, including a beautiful infinity pool. However, we never used it. From the photos it becomes clear why it is so. The interior of the room is comfortable, beautiful and spacious. The bed was big and firm. Santorini is mostly visited for the view. This hotel has one of the best, if not the best view on the island. You are at the highest location and you simply feel sorry if you turn your head because you have the feeling that you are missing something. Our flight arrived quite early (7.00AM) and the staff made sure we got a room as soon as possible. Speaking of the staff, everyone is friendly, smiling, ready to help with anything and unobtrusive. For those who are interested in the maintenance of the pool, upon arrival I watched how the pool is vacuumed, cleaned and the water changed. Also, the pool has a protein skimmer and is heated. So there is no fear for those more sensitive. Also, the room is far from the eyes of the public and offers privacy that most rooms in good locations do not have. The staff has their own small storage room near the room, and sometimes they passed by us, but they did so quietly and unobtrusively, possibly 1-2 times a day. Considering the limited number of space on the island, that was understandable. It is a 20-25 minute walk to the center of Fira and is not recommended for those with weak knees. For those who want good gyros and don't want to walk to the center, nearby is Jimmys Souvlaki with great food. There is also a supermarket next to it. The nearest attraction is Skaros Rock with the remains of the Venetian fortress. There is a sign at the foot saying that it is forbidden to approach. It should be kept in mind that it is very dangerous, however, that did not prevent us, as well as many others, from climbing to the top. These were the most beautiful 4 days of our lives.Guest review byMarioCroatia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 146 reviewsKivotos Santorini is simply breathtaking — a sanctuary of style and serenity perched above the caldera. The architecture is striking, the interiors are beautifully curated, and the service is flawless. Waking up to those volcanic views felt surreal, and every moment was infused with peace, privacy, and understated luxury. It’s more than a stay — it’s an experience we’ll never forget.Guest review byConstantinaCyprus

View is just incredible. Service was spectacular: staff was welcoming, helpful and friendly. Very prompt to respond to any request. The room was amazing, carved in the rock. Basically, the quintessential Santorini experience.Guest review byAmyUnited States

the views - night and day were great, The people are really friendly and the food.... fantastic! the protion sizes are huge, they really like to feed you! good quality food too. Favourite restaurants Nouassa No Name Bechemal Easy to get around Santorini - use the local buses from the main bus station. There is a bus timetable for all of the services. the signage on the buses isn't always clear, but you just ask the bus driver or ticket conductors. You will need change for the buses - most journeys are 2 euros. they only take cash. You will do alot of walking - comfy shoes are a must and there are alot of steps too.....this may impact anyone with joint issues. Akrotiri - great place to visit - you can also take a boat ride around to red beach. Local homemade lemonade is the best - served in quite a few cafes Mythos beer is a good beer Thira and Oia get quite busy when the cruise ships dock.Guest review byLouise - 10.0

We found it a great location, as it was quiet and had some of the best views of the island. We were still close enough to Fira to visit on foot, and there were good transport links to get elsewhere as well. Plenty of good and varied restaurants, some of which were real gemsGuest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely village but getting very busy.
Lovely village but getting very busy. Restaurants were excellent and staff in them very polite and attentive. Greece is not cheap these days so you have to pay the same as in UK for meals etc. Wine is very expensive but nice to see that they only sell Greek wine in supermarkets and restaurants.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Liked that it was away from Fira. Fira so crowded.
Liked that it was away from Fira. Fira so crowded. One day 6 cruise ships in Port. We ate 2 nights at Romantica taverna. Traditional Greek restaurant, good food and happy staff. Easy to walk around in you don't mind stairs and uphill. Walk from Fira to Oia 10km, something to do and overview of area.Guest review bySusanAustralia - 10.0

We spent two weeks on the island in Fira, We stayed one week on the east side and one week on the west side. The east side of the island is quieter. You need to walk to shops and restaurants - uphill, so lots of cardio! We stayed at Hill Suites. A lovely, relaxing and private accommodation with a perfect lanai breakfast every morning. Thomas, the manager was an excellent host! The second week we spent on the caldera side. Very busy!!!! Shops and restaurants surround you. No cars here. Streets are lovely, narrow, winding paths leading you from one surprise to another. Everywhere the views are stunning! The best resource on the island is the bus terminal located in Fira. This terminal is a hub and spoke terminal. All buses leave and return to this terminal each trip. You can go anywhere for 2 euros one way. An excellent way to see the island! The buses run frequently so if you miss one, don't worry there will be another shortly. They also service the airport! Across the street from the bus depot is the Museum. A must see after you have visited the excavations at Akrotiri at the south end of the island. Really, find yourself a spot to sit and enjoy a beverage while taking in the view and watching the activities around you. Remember to breathe. Relax. Enjoy.Guest review byKathrynCanada - 10.0

Everything in Oia is great - it’s so beautiful that not even the crowds are a problem! There are so many wonderful cafes and restaurants that you’re spoilt for choice. Definitely recommend one of the sunset cruises and also touring the wineries and archeological centre in Akrotiri.Guest review byannamariaAustralia - 10.0

On arrival it is confusing - hotel is built on upper slopes of caldera, so it has different levels. On the plus side as soon as you leave the hotel you are on the famous Fira/Oia walk - turn right for Fira. You are on the highest part of the caldera so initially it is downhill, also you are close to Skaros rock which is worth visiting for the views and has a church partially hidden on the seaward side at a slightly lower elevation. As long as you can look to the sea you will have great sunset views wherever you are,my hotel patio was great for this.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Akrotiri is a beautiful town.
Akrotiri is a beautiful town. I definitely recommend visiting the Akrotiri archaeological site, but the entrance fee of 20 euros is honestly way too expensive. The White Beach and Red Beach are nice, but not really our thing because they’re overcrowded. We preferred finding some quieter beaches insteadGuest review byMilosCzech Republic - 8.0
Firostefani was a good choice of Santorini location for me.
Firostefani was a good choice of Santorini location for me. Even at the end of the season, the main town of Fira was overcrowded with cruise ship visitors every day, and had some very high prices in the shops and restaurants. Firostefani is only a mile from Fira centre with good communications but is less crowded and (slightly) less expensive. There are plenty of restaurants in Firostefani, the two I liked best were Onar and Aktaion. Also there was a good, reasonably priced take-away called Why Not. Firostefani (and many areas of Santorini) has small mini-markets but no good supermarket. Anyone self-catering would find food shopping expensive and with limited choices. My hotel (Villa Ilias) like many others in Firostefani had spectacular views over the caldera.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom
