This hotel enhanced by stay in Split! By far the greatest AC by Marriott I’ve ever stayed at! Very friendly and professional staff. They gave me my room 1,5h before check-in time and offered me to check out later than normal if needed. Amazing room, but didn’t expect anything else from AC by Marriott. Nice spa floor with amazing view of the city and the sunset! Very convenient underground parking.

Crowds go with the territory, so know what to expect and try to avoid peak times. Don't ask me how though. EU accession means that costs are now on a par with other destinations, and tipping culture has rapidly become established, to a fault. Bring lots of money. The cable car pricing is outrageous. Take a taxi up instead, but you may have little choice on the way back down. Pro tip: the Dubrovnik Pass represents great value if you are planning to walk the walls. It costs the same as the walls alone, and provides free access to a variety of other attractions, and also free bus travel. Usually skeptical about such things, not buying this was a mistake.

City has some great historical features and a few nice beaches. Caters well for tourism though was a little too commercial for our personal choice. We found it expensive in the old town. Worth a visit though a week city break would suffice for most areas to be visited

Very nice town with great restaurants and bars overlooking the harbour. Only 7 mins taxi ride from Dubrovnik airport. Boat rides into Dubrovnik take around 50 mins, local bus takes about the same time. Nice places within easy walking distance for a swim in the sea. Would highly recommend Cavtat for a relaxing break.

Lovely and very interesting island with amazing beaches nearby, great biking opportunities, historic places to visit, wonderful restaurants, friendly people and amazing sites around every bend. We stayed in the old town, in a building built around 1400, and explored from there. The old town was so fun and small enough that you could walk everywhere, including to the ferry stations, so the only time we used a car was when we took a day to drive to several beaches around the island, each one amazing.

We used Mlini for a night before flying out of Dubrovnik Airport. We started our Croatia holiday in Split, then did a Bike and Boat through the islands, ending up in Dubrovnik. Seeing how far Dubrovnik is from the airport, I sought closer accommodations, and it was a quick 10 minutes in the early morning when our driver picked us up at 5:40 a.m. After being there, for one day, I wish I could have spent several days there just relaxing!
