The staff was more than helpful (one of the most elegant and good manners person I ever met worked at the reception), the rooms are spacious and clean, parking is a huge help, breakfast was decent (but nothing to complain about the quality). We loved this place from the very first moment — the breakfast was absolutely delicious, the interiors stylish and thoughtfully designed, and the little spa simply charming. Massage prices were surprisingly reasonable, the coffee was excellent, and the wine list came with pleasantly fair prices. The overall vibe was warm, welcoming, and genuinely uplifting — we just didn’t want to leave. That’s why we ended up staying for hours longer than planned. It’s wonderful that the place is pet-friendly — a huge plus for us! A lovely little bonus: there were dried fruits and refreshing lemonades available in the spa area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. And we can’t forget the bathrobes — incredibly soft and cozy, we almost fell in love with them <3.

    We liked the exhibition at the synagogue and the catacombs by the cathedral. The buildings in and around the main square have been tastefully restored. The modern shopping centre close to the hotel was impressive.

    Nice small town, everything is walking distance.

    Nice small town, everything is walking distance. I would recommend Harkany Thermal spa where the whole family will enjoy. And if you want a special experience, take a swim in the outside pool in wintertime 😊

    I loved the street with small bars/restaurants made in wine cellars (look for a few that have a terrace on the other side - looking into the vineyards). Winetasting and lunch at GERE TAMÁS ÉS ZSOLT WINERY - would definitely recommend.

    Beautiful area, with options for sightseeing, as well as, great walking trails in the Mecsek park close by. Fortress on top of the hill a must see, and it's restaurant has fantastic food for a reasonable price. Town next door has an interesting decorated easter egg collection of over 3000 pieces, one more beautiful than the other. We were there for the Leanyvasar festival, lots of food, drink, activities and music to enjoy.

    To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise.

    To me, Pécs was a very positive surprise. When deciding to stop there for a rest day on a 3 week motorcycle trip around Europe, I was hoping for some urban area where I would not get bored the first hour. With no research before arriving, we went for dinner the first night, and happened upon an outdoor restaurant in the castle ruins. On the surface it looked like a tourist trap, but food, service and pricing was great. The next day we went for a walk, again without much research and explored the center of the city, a very beautiful and historically important area as we learned. We had great food in some of the many restaurants, and we visited the UNESCO Heritage ruin as well as the basilica / cathedral. All in all, I am impressed.

    Harkany is a small quiet town and when we walked in the evening, some local restaurants (csarda) we saw on Google maps were closed (February). We tried to enter some restaurants at 20h and were told that the kitchen is closed at 18h. Everything is closed in this town in the evening. Funny, but the only way to find some food was to go to Spar supermarket and get some ready-to-go cooked food. Only another thing we found working in the evening was Tenkes Csarda, 6km drive by car. The local bakery on the main street has some local cakes, but the selection was very limited and was nothing special.

    Villany is easily walkable for great wine and food. Everywhere we went was dog-friendly! We loved Bock restaurant (dog friendly inside!) and Fritsch is a gem - delicious wine and an amazing price! We stocked up here! We enjoyed our stay at Eckhardt Panzio (so happy they had a cancellation after our disappointing evening at Halasi) Definitely check out the castle in Siklos. If I were going again, I would not go on a Monday and Tuesday again - even though it was nice and quiet (which we loved), most places were closed.

    Pécs is a place where anyone would find something for themselves: great historical buildings, museums, a zoo, lookout towers, walking tours, etc. A lot of nice restaurants. For those loving ice cream, "Mecsek Cukrászda" at Széchenyi Square is a must.

    Well, what everybody will rather dislike is the current inflation and, consequently, rising prices, but this rise is not that huge. Harkany is an ideal place for relaxation, swimming, lying on the grass in the park where the pools are located, and doing nothing apart from enjoying your time there. If you like the wine offered in the bar located next to the main entrance to the strandfurdo, visit the vinery - its owner is Gergen Birtok and you`ll find his shop in Siklos-Gyod, Jaro Peter ut.35. You can buy there wine on draft or in bottles.
