There is only a limited amount of seats so you have to reserve and we recommend getting there when it opens. We had King Prawns which were grilled with a garlic and lemon sauce. The casual restaurant (the Beach Grill) served great salads and causal fare. Also a fantastic place to get a beer after a long day at the beach. The beach was well kept and one could go on for miles if you wished. There are also many activities you can participate in from a Earth (Nature) Lab which specialized in the learning of owls to a book keep for those who want to catch up on there reading. Munnar has everything for everybody.
Munnar has everything for everybody. Trekking experiences, wildlife experiences, national park experiences and viewpoints. Favorite Spots, the Eravikulam National Park, Echo Point Kayaking, Elephant Spotting point, Trekking at the Chokramudi peak, Kolukkumalai sunrise view point, Couple Ziplining at Adventron. Very nice coast, it’s possible to walk for kilometres along the coast. It’s quite turistic but mainly locals so it doesn’t bother too much. It’s possible to get into the sea only in very few places but I wouldn’t recommend it. The town has lots of markets, bakeries and restaurants. It has been converted in to a fortress for the fourtune found there which belongs to the nation. LANGUAGE BARRIERS is another impediment. The Vaishnav tour boat was excellent and trip went on very well. One thing I want to bring to the notice of the government authorities is that, almost all the house boat people are throwing kitchen garbage waste into the river water and already hyacinth started growing at most of the areas. Pl instruct all the boat owners to maintain proper dustbins and not to throw even a small piece of paper into the river. Afterall. It is because of this river water or back waters what ever u call , your business is going on and some thousands of people are getting employment. It is your minimum duty to protect the river, only then you will be protected. Pl take some necessary action in this regard. Any side you turn, the views are stunning. You should visit during a perfect weather with some rain and fog. It doesn't cool very much during sunny days. Roads are very nice to drive a car. Nettor back water safari for 1hr is high 3400/- for 4. Need to negotiate further. Mattancherry palace is better with a guide. Katthakali show 600 pp is worth watching with their makeup n dressing.
