Our stay at Lamrin Cottages in Rishikesh was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, Richa and her staff made us feel right at home. Their courteous and friendly demeanor truly enhanced the experience. The cottages themselves were wonderful. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. But the real highlight was the delicious food! Every meal was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. Also, late night meals were readily accommodated by the staff. We especially enjoyed the ample veg options on the menu, including a really great paratha, fried bhindi and the powa for breakfast. A highlight was having dinner served on the terrace, which allowed us to take in the late evening views of the Ganges and the Ram Jhula bridge. The location of Lamrin Cottages was perfect. Just a short walk away from the Ganges River, it offered a peaceful escape while still being close enough to walk and take in the Ganges. Overall, Lamrin Cottages provided the perfect base for our Rishikesh adventure. We can't thank Richa and her staff enough for their hospitality. We highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Rishikesh!

The fact that there is Aarti every evening just made my day(s). The food in in the restaurant was absolutely super!! Super compliments to chef Deepak! I stayed here for 15 nights. The staff were helpful, well-mannered and very friendly. Property is within a 5-minute walking distance from Laxman Jhula, it’s a 4-storey building and is very clean. Plenty of facilities available, including a gym and swimming pool (although I didn’t use them). The breakfast at its Holy Oven is very tasty, which caters for both Indian and Western tastes. The room service meal delivery is very quick and is available 24-hours. I would not hesitate to come back to this wonderful hotel and its wonderful staff. Thank you for a great stay.

It was my first time in India, and choosing the Taj was the best decision I could’ve made. The team made me feel cared for from the first moment—I even asked when to return to see the mountains green, as in May they matched the golden Ganga! As a solo traveler, I was touched by the thoughtful precautions—calls screened by reception, safety tips about monkeys, and a direct contact from security (thank you, Himanshee!). My villa was perfectly placed between yoga and reception, with a stunning Ganges view. Pawan and his team kept it pristine, adding lovely local spa treats and always stocking my favorite tea. Morning tea on the balcony became a cherished ritual. Hi-tea with Helmata-ji was a daily delight—black tea with ginger and cardamom, always divine. I also loved discovering the espresso machine, sipping a cappuccino by Bhagwat while gazing at the Himalayas—pure magic. Staying longer, the Rock Flour team quickly tuned in to my tastes. Special thanks to Dipak Kumar Singh for crafting fresh, healthy off-menu dishes that truly pampered my palate. Everyone’s kindness and smiles made me feel right at home. I came for “me-time,” and the daily yoga, meditation, and sound healing—plus private sessions—were everything I hoped for. Shivani, your guidance turned my stay into a true retreat. You are both a gifted teacher and now, a friend. For adventure, Jitendra’s team offered great experiences. Trekking with Ajay, a passionate mountaineer, was a highlight—sharing local lore, spotting wildlife, and guiding me to a village temple, even across the river by inflatable boat! All in all the stay at Taj Rishikesh was exceptional!

The hotel is away from all the chaos and offer amazing views of the mountain, forest and nature wonders. Absolutely loved the friendliness of the owner Suhail who is extremely kind to us. He drove us to certain local places and guiding us and providing useful advice for us around Dehradun. Even his staff have the same manners and professionalism and kindness. We booked three deluxe rooms and all of us including my friends were extremely satisfied and will be coming back again soon. The restaurant of the hotel offers delicious food. So happy we found this place… just AMAZING!!!

The hotel location is excellent offering best of both the worlds. its surrounded by lush greenery and dense tree cover and yet it is close to the bustling and happening hill station of Mussoorie. The breakfast was a lavish spread of various cuisines - continental, north Indian and south Indian. The presentation and layout was immaculate and the preparation was lip smacking. Above all the staff was ever ready to help and always had smiling faces. All in all a memorable experience - would definitely come again.

The heritage property is stunning with beautiful lawns and spacious rooms: maintaining its old world charm with wooden floors and high ceiling, the history of the property is conserved which makes it more delightful to stay there. The rooms maintained their old world charm with comfortable beds, a study, walk-in wardrobe and sitting lounge. We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and everything was exceptional. An environmentally conscious hotel (no plastic used, food served to room in tiffin box) friendly staff, great location and great food. There were several activities for keeping the kids engaged. The ganga aarti at the property every evening was a bonus. I will happily recommend this hotel to others.

I went to Rishikesh with an open mind to witness the might...

I went to Rishikesh with an open mind to witness the might of the Ganges River, see the temples and join my wife in the participation of the Aarti Ceremony. There are the local habits, roving animals and crazy traffic that may annoy a lot of visitors. But I chose to rise above those and focus on the rituals, temples, monuments, daily activities, Ashrams (retreats) and the view of the Rishikesh valley. The flow of the Ganges and the 3 cable bridges (Ram Jhulla, Lachman Julla, and Janki Jhulla), and the chanting with the ceremonies in the evenings were mesmerizing, humbling and a joy to the soul. I felt blessed to be there.

Reach Mall-road from Library chowk before 5 PM, so that you...

Reach Mall-road from Library chowk before 5 PM, so that you can pay the fee and enter and park your car inside Mall-road. The paid parking inside is better. The paid parking outside Mall-road is very far and prices are insane. Be careful while you shop, you have to bargain hard! Do take the trolley to the Gun hill point - The view from the top is amazing. Avoid rainy days as you cannot travel and there is no view.

Not green enough, options other than resorts are minimal or nil. We went to kosi river ramnagar it was very dirty. N a food restaurant near it was very unhygienic, it was smelling of dead rats. It was pathetic.

There are many more less explored resorts in Uttrakhand like ranikhet mukteshwar etc which offer pristine and great panoramic view. Bhimtal is crowded and may be okay for the first time travellers to Uttrakhand.

Haldwani is a city bursting with life. It is located in the foothills of Himalayas. It has issues of Traffic congestion,due to this being a place connecting Nainital and other beautiful locations. It has a bunch of good restaurants and shopping malls. Overall a good city!

Stayed here for 3 nights and yet felt short. Went to Waterfall, Bhimtal, Kainchi Dham, Mukteshwar Temple, Zero Point and Chauli Ki Jali. Great trip. Stayed at a Homestay Ecoescape Mukteshwar and it was a really good experience. Overall, accommodation and nearby places made our stay amazing.
