Definitely the best accomodation we had in Iceland. The cottage we stayed was spacious and very lovely with all necessary equipment. the parking in front of it was a bonus.The breakfast was fresh and very delicious. the staff was extremely helpful. Check in and check out very effective.

Location was great. The hotel is run by a family. During our stay an orange alert was announced due to bad weather conditions. We were stuck in the hotel and the family was so kind they gave all the information for choosing a safe travel plan and they let us stay almost till the end of the day. Our stay in this hotel was amazing. We had everything we needed. There was a kettle, tea and coffee in the room. The room was clean and comfortable for group of 3. Tasty breakfast with a lot of options. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great mountains view from the window. Around 10 minutes to the big supermarket. I would like to come back to this place again.

Excellent location! We stayed there for two nights and were fortunate to have experienced the northern lights both nights. Due to the location of the property, and the chilly winds, we could experience the northern lights from inside.

I only spent one night at Birkifell and in all honesty it was not enough. Birkifell is 100% pure charm and comfort. The cabin is small but comfortable and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was pretty much perfect. Coffee machine with coffee, stovetop, oven and microwave, fridge/freezer, cutlery, crockery and cookware. The beds are so comfortable and warm. I slept amazingly well. And now what is truly wow. Hot tub on the verandah with clear, unobstructed views of the sky which was crystal clear. The hot tub was hot, comfortable and clean. The only sound to be heard was me. I have never experienced such quiet and stillness before. It was invigorating. I was sad to have to leave Birkifell but when I come back to Iceland, Birkifell will be my must stay again. I love everything about Birkifell.
