- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 353 reviewsIt was a wonderful stay there! We caught the very end of the season. The location of the hotel is simply magical, the colours of the emerald sea and the blue pool were simply mesmerizing. Hotel services are at the highest level. Very friendly staff, breakfast has everything you need, fresh products every day. We really liked how the dinner was organised. Every day there is a new menu. A lot of local dishes, cooked perfectly and well balanced. Excellent selection of local wines. The hotel has a private beach, also very well organised and clean. We lived at the separate building and our room had access to the garden. Our cat was completely delighted!Guest review byEkaterinaNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 76 reviewsThis place it's worth it's money. I only went thinking it was just expensive but when talking with the receptionists (very kind) they explained all the activities included like bicicles, tours, the private beach, kids activities, etc. The place looks and feels fancy, the beach is beautiful. The rooms are large and comfortable, i was lucky to have a nice view of the gardens, i bet the beach views are insane. Everybody was nice to us even tho our italian wasn't very good, they even let us try! I want to come back to this hotel for sure.Guest review byConstanzaItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 585 reviewsThis luxury hotel offers great facilities. Besides spacious rooms, a nice Spa and outside pool it is especially the garden which really stands out. This beautiful natural lounge area has magnificent views on the surrounding Archipelago. Furthermore, the breakfast is absolutely 5 stars and the hotel restaurant ‘Isola’ also delivers great quality food choices. Nearby the hotel is the MaMa pizza place as a second place to eat. We had a great time.Guest review byNicNetherlands

You definitely need a car to get around but the cost is definitely worth it. The area is lovely and a boat trip to La Maddalena is a must. Photos do not do justice to the crystal clear turquoise water and unspoiled beaches. This is high praise coming from someone who rarely goes to the beach! This stay was my first and hopefully not my last but I would have stayed longer if I could have. We enjoyed good meals in various places including a recommended restaurant at a small beach which was atmospheric with a beautiful view. I don’t think you can go wrong wherever you choose to eat. The place feels safe and the people are friendly and polite.Guest review byNancyAustralia - 10.0

We have stayed in other very nice resorts and hotels with robust amenities throughout Sardinia and this was easily our favorite one. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to assist us. In addition to the hotel, we loved touring around Capo Testa and spent a lot of time in Santa Teresa which is a very charming town near the hotel. Next time we will spend more time at the beaches since an injury prevented us from navigating the rocky beach.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0
The best place in Sardinia.
The best place in Sardinia. Cute Italian town with picturesque houses, great restaurants and the best gelato. We loved going from beach to beach, they all possess different qualities, but they are all lovely with the bluest water I’ve seen. You definitely need a car or a Vespa to get the best experience. Taking a boat trip for a day is also a must! Would strongly recommend spending a few days in La Maddalena!Guest review byTameshaNorway - 8.0

We highly recommend Palau for its great connections to La Maddalena – just a 20–25 minute ferry ride, with departures every 30 minutes. Once on La Maddalena, we rented a rubber boat (gommoni) to explore the rest of the paradise-like islands, so the location turned out to be a perfect choice.Guest review byAlejandraSwitzerland - 10.0
What an amzing place!
What an amzing place! We loved the city, the prommenades, the shopping, restaurants, and of course the beaches! We visited: Poltu Quato for a dinner at Tanit (definitely recommend), we visited beaches at: Spiaggia del Principe, Grande Pevero, and Rena Bianca, Rena Bianca was by far the best!Guest review byHusseinSwitzerland - 8.0
Lovely quiet Sardinian resort.
Lovely quiet Sardinian resort. Very good restaurants and snack bars. Great little harbour which holds local markets a couple of times a week. If you’re looking for a quiet break just to have a rest this is the place to go.Guest review byMags WardUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Golfo Aranci was not for us, but it may be great for others.
Golfo Aranci was not for us, but it may be great for others. It seemed to be a place that was more geared towards wealthy foreigners and not the average Italian tourist. This showed in the extremely high prices for food, beverages and groceries as well as the minimal choices in dishes/foods. Every restaurant seemed to offer the same upscale pasta and pizza that you found again and again and did not seem to be very authentic Gallurese or Sardinian. In fact, we barely felt like we were in Sardinia much of the time. However, it does have beautiful public beaches, great options for daytrips on the sea, as well as being very close to Olbia (great city!) and lots of amazing beaches, not to mention La Maddalena. Oh, there's also a train, although we didn't use it. We always prefer a car to get around. Parking in Golfo Aranci is expensive though. It says that you pay everywhere all year all the time, but if you look closely, you might find some free overnight spots. We liked Pittulongu instead because it had an adults only place that was excellent. But in general, going after school starts is a sure fire way to avoid having too many screaming babies around you on the beach. We probably won't be back to stay in Golfo Aranci, but we might go back on a day trip to revisit a few of the beaches or take the hike up the mountain that we didn't get to do this time.Guest review byTara_in_ItaliaItaly - 8.0

Nice small and relaxed sea side town with good choice of restaurants. Lovely to stroll around, finish with a gelato and walking home. We loved Barracuda for its expert preparation of super fresh seafood and Blue Cobalto for its beautiful setting.Guest review byISABELLESwitzerland - 6.0
Porto San Paolo is a jumping point for Tavolara island.
Porto San Paolo is a jumping point for Tavolara island. We visited in low season (end of May) so the town was still sleepy and some business were still closed, but i am sure in the high season it becomes more lively.Guest review byNicoletta CorradiUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Giants Tombs and other archelogical site in the nearby area of Tenuta Pilastru are very interesting. Only 20 minutes drive to the Costa Smeralada, the worldwide renound resort, with amazing white sand's beaches and spectacular views, as well as Porto Cervo Village and its Marina, together with high-end shopping opportunities. Arzachena is a honest pleasent village, but with nothing really special to see...Guest review byFrancescoItaly
