    This was definitely a highlight of our vacation. An absolutely amazing place, with very friendly and helpful hosts, Raffaella and the property manager Darwin. We only saw Darwin when he brought us some refreshments; otherwise, he was like a ghost, even though he stayed at the castle the entire time. 😄 We’d just notice cushions appearing and disappearing, the pool always clean, etc. Both Raffaella and Darwin promptly assisted us with every request we had. Thank you! The property is wonderful and feels truly authentic, the decorations aren’t just for show and include some historical artifacts. The pool was clean and very pleasant, and the view was incredible. For part of our stay, we had the property to ourselves, which was a truly amazing experience. We didn’t miss a thing - cold water was always available in the fridge, there were board games, and even a ping-pong table. Calm, peaceful, and VERY PRIVATE. Exploring the entire property was a magical, game-like experience.

    The hotel is very good value for the money,it has its own charm, the location is excellently positioned in the centre of Salice Terme. The room was spacious and tastefully designed, well equipped with wardrobes and all necessities. The garden and pool area is beautiful if you come in the warmer months. The reception ladies were kind and helpful. Breakfast was good quality and with variety.Wifi was good.

    First of all I must say that this is a beautiful hotel. The girls on reception were amazing from the start. Extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and the rooms are so comfortable. I would give this hotel a solid 8/10 however the staff definitely push it to a 10/10. Thank you for making myself and my colleagues stay a smooth one. We will be back!!

    Excellent location If you are using the nearby tracks. Security is also excellent, with monitored entrance and exits 24/7. Rooms are of decent size but good value for money, definitely will return. One tip is to bring mosquito repellant, as the track and hotel are near a lake, but this is expected.

    We are walking the Via Francigena and it is hot. We sent a message to ask for an earlier entrance as we walked early and we were welcomed as soon as we arrived. The staff were helpful and kind and the facilities excellent. We even had pizza delivered with no problems.

    Pavia was a great non-tourist town. University vibe, well kept buildings and streets. Nice historic center and river area. Good restaurants. For a break from all the tourist, big city hustle - Pavia was perfect.

    Pretty little town!

    Pretty little town! The center has beautiful places to see and the show museum is a must go! I recommend stay close to the old town center as possible. The only thing that I was surprised was: don't expected to have lunch downtown, because they close the restaurants for lunch and open again after 18.30/19.00 for dinner. Some caffee houses are open during lunch time. Vigevano is a sweet little town and I ll definitely come back! P.s. Don't expected to get a taxi easy there. Best to rent a car. Its easy to drive in Vigevano and you can go to small towns around.

    We went here as a short stopover before driving to Portofino...

    We went here as a short stopover before driving to Portofino the next day (as the windy roads to Portofino does not make for suitable conditions late night driving). Honestly, it was a quick couple hours here for us as there were only limited things to see. But we did appreciate the quaint charm especially since we had some free time to kill

    If you like interesting old churches and a lively town...

    If you like interesting old churches and a lively town centre Pavia is a great place to visit for a couple of days. About 5 miles out of town is an amazing monastery complex. You can get there by bus or train but these methods required too much walking in the intense heat so we took taxis. Well worth a visit. Everyone friendly and helpful.

    Pavia has wonderful medieval churches and a big museum at the Castello. The tomb of St. Augustine is amazing, and is a favorite stopping point of Pope Leo XIV. Boethius is also buried in Pavia. The city still keeps traditional Mediterranean hours (2-2 1/2-hour break midday), so it takes a day or two longer to see all the sites. We found good restaurants and would happily have stayed longer. It is said that April-May are the best months to visit, and it was already hot (80 degrees) at the end of May.
