- From US$550.05 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 1,094 reviewsWe appreciated that this beautiful former Tuscan monastery was convenient to Sienna, but was peaceful and quiet and surrounded by beautiful open space. We enjoyed roaming the grounds with its numerous outdoor seating, walking and lounging areas, as well as the outdoor saltwater pool and attached lounge area. The interior spaces are elegant but comfortable and inviting. We were upgraded to a junior suite which we jokingly referred to as the "Cinderella suite" as we had to climb approx. 65 steps to get to our rooms, but we couldn't complain as it was comfortable and had everything we needed (excluding large windows as it seemed as if the suite was originally attic space), with a sitting room, walk in closet, and large sleeping room and bathroom. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of both hot and cold, savory and sweet items, with fresh coffee and tea made to order, and seating options provided both indoors and outdoors. The numerous staff were helpful, friendly and polite, and were quick to check to see if we needed anything. We were even provided a tour of the attached church by the caretaker :) with translation provided by one of the wonderful ladies that work at the front desk. What an amazing adventure!Guest review byMonikaAustria
- From US$126.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 3,208 reviewsThe hotel is great. Staff are great. Room spacious with Italian style bedding. Not my preference but not a negative. Added to the experience. 😀 Bathroom super clean with great olive oil based products. But the stand out, most amazing thing about this hotel... The breakfast! Sweet baby Jesus. Continental style. They did a brown bread croissant with honey. Unreal. Then... they have Nutella on a pump, with a spear nozzle. So can just impregnate your croissant with Nutella. Best way to start a day.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom

You know you're arriving somewhere special when you turn off the road and drive up the cypress lined track with billows of white dust in your rear view mirror. Staff were both friendly and highly professional. Restaurant was excellent, if a little pricey. Breakfast room and food were exceptional.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom

Great and interesting city.
Great and interesting city. Been there before, many years ago, and wanted to see it again. The piazza Il Campo is fantastic - the most odd and beautiful square in Italy and maybe in Europe. Go up to the top of the tower and see it from above, amazing! Just to bad that the horserace Il Palio was in July and August, that would have been a great experience.Guest review byTommySweden - 10.0

Pienza is a fantastic hilltop town with wonderful views over the Val D'Orcia valley. It has wonderful streets, restaurants, and historical sites to explore. Beautiful Tuscan town.
Beautiful Tuscan town. But the two main churches are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, if you can believe it... Better stay in Peinza or Montepulciano. But Sant'Antimo Abbey, 10 kms away, is a world wonder.Guest review byChristopheFrance - 2.0

The Grand hotel in Chianciano Terme' this is the hotel' we booked by international standards this should be a 1 star hotel with a warning do not book this hotel. The hotel is very outdated filled with a foul smell. The rooms & bathrooms lacks basic renovations and mould is every where in the bathroom. The breakfast is very poor offering basic and cheap shop bought cereals mostly reheated frozen pastries, the coffee machine broke down. The hotel charged us for rooms with no restraint, the hotel should have closed down a long time ago, it is no longer fit for purpose. I advise people not to go to the hotel do not waste your money & precious memories, we came back with insect bites all over our bodies. The photos of the hotel does not reflect the reality.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0
I have been to Tuscany more times than I can count.
I have been to Tuscany more times than I can count. This is my first time stopping in and staying in Colle di Val d'Elsa. The location is very close to all the major sites in Tuscany. Volterra and San Gimignano are extremely closeby as well as Chianti. There is a charm to the old town area of Colle di Val d'Elsa, not a ton of tourists like the other sites in the area.Guest review byD. CaronanItaly - 8.0
The apartement was even nicer than pictures.
The apartement was even nicer than pictures. There was oil and a bit of vinegar as well as salt and pepper. It would have been nice to have a few more amenities. The pool looked really nice but we did not have time to take advantage of it. Check in was easy even though we arrived very late at night. Same for the check out.Guest review byPatriciaCanada - 10.0

Fantastic little town with tonnes of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The museum ticket is great value as it gets you into lots of the historic sights. We enjoyed the weaponry exhibit as you were allowed to hold and try on the different artefacts which was cool! We parked nearby and paid with card on exit (only line up at the ticket machine if you’re paying cash). The onsite wine shop (connected to the popular winery near by) was delicious too. Would definitely recommend this town for people to visit and dine at!Guest review byLyndalAustralia - 8.0
THE GOOD : The location is great, close to the Val D'orcia.
THE GOOD : The location is great, close to the Val D'orcia. The amenities of this property are good, rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious enough. The bathroom etc was great. Breakfast was also pretty good, though they could improve their bread selections. THE NOT GOOD : Staff is difficult to get hold of and are not very helpful/friendly. This is compounded by the fact that (if you speak English), they are not very conversant in English. THE BAD : We had specifically requested rooms to be close by but instead we were given rooms that were a 5 mins walk through hallways, elevators and literally on opposite ends of the property.Guest review byKuntalUnited States
