FAQs about hotels in South Tyrol
Tyrolese Magic among the Italian Alps
Part of the Alpine regions of northern Italy, this small province mixes great ski slopes, rich traditions from Austrian, Italian and Ladin cultures, stunning landscapes, and great food and wines. Seasons make no difference here, as the enchantment of South Tyrol has always something magic to offer.
With strong cultural and historical bonds with the Austrian Tyrol, this tiny region has a population with a German-speaking majority. The charming towns spread through its undulating geography mix the Tyrolese and Italian influence.
In the picturesque capital Bolzano, the Walther Square with the Cathedral of The Assumption of Our Lady and the trendy shops along Via dei Portici are a must to visit. Known also as Bozen, it is famous for the Christmas Market, where most of the hotels in South Tyrol get sold out quickly.
Merano is the 2nd city in the region and is famous for its spa facilities. And of course, also some the best luxury hotels in South Tyrol are located here. When you talk about Südtirol, it is also important to mention skiing in the Dolomites, Val Badia or Val Gardena: white beauties that you won’t be able to resist.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 141 reviewsThere are some places that exceed the hype and this is one of them! A truly amazing experience in a tranquil pine forest retreat with outstanding heated pool and enhanced by the amazing food and hospitality. Things that surprise me in a very positive way: - the food was outstanding! Besides the gourmet style daily dinner the lunch was surprisingly also amazing. In some occasions I even enjoyed more the lunch to the dinner as the food was more authentic in a more laid down vibe. The grill lunch was one of those days! Just perfection! Klaus knows what he is doing (just a pity he cannot speak English! Maybe another member of the staff should join him). - Wine and cocktails. I must say all the complementary coktails were very impressive both in authenticity and in flavour! The wine list is also high standards. - the pool. Not only it is beautiful and pristine clean but the water is at perfect warm temperature and the size big enough for real proper swimming! Impressive! - tranquility of the grounds mainly in the sauna areas. - top notch quality of the complimentary electric bikes. - staff polite and pro active. I would like to highlight the professionalism of Lorenza, Alexandre and Christian.Guest review byNunoPortugal
- From US$522.42 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 552 reviewsThe location of this hotel was absolutely amazing with fantastic views and calm vibes. It all started with the most amazing welcoming from the staff and from then just got better and better. The hotel was so clean and very well maintained and the spa facilities were exceptional, it reminded us of being back in bali. at times we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Being a chef I also thought the food was amazing with lots to offer. what made this trip so special was, when I told the staff I wanted to propose to my girlfriend on the pool deck they went out of there to make it as romantic as possible. As frequent traveller's we highly recommended staying at this hotel, you will not be disappointedGuest review byHenryUnited Kingdom
- From US$754.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 926 reviewsThe incredible hotel!!! All the things in this hotel better than you may expect. One of the best hotel I've ever been. 1) SPA - WOW! Spacious, nice and very comfortable. 2) Restaurant - good choice of food, every dinner you can taste a lot of variation of high level dishes. They do the small portions of food, but you can try more or ask a bigger portion. 3) Bar - very good and big collection of beer, wine, whiskey for the fair price. 4) Room is the best ever. Ideal! Spacious with two beds. On of the bed is on the glass corner with fantastic view of the mountains. To read book, to relax with the partner or just look at the mountains.Guest review byDmitri ParsinMoldova

- From US$365.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,386 reviewsWe were very impressed with the Laurin Hotel, especially how well single guests are accommodated. The single rooms are just as comfortable and beautifully appointed as the double rooms, and even offer a lovely view, something that is quite rare. The bicycle storage is equally impressive, as can be seen in the pictures. We would have loved to stay longer to fully enjoy the relaxing resort atmosphere, the high-quality food and beverages, and the exceptionally friendly staff.Guest review byLauraGibNetherlands

The Spa is hands down the best I have ever been to. The breakfast the best breakfast buffet. and had an amazing 5-star steak dinner with a nice wine. Would like to go back prepared to do the walks and hikes in the area. The old city and market were charming. Loved the Archeology museum and learning about Otzi the Iceman. Cable car and train a great introduction to the possibilities available for future visits.Guest review byKellyCanada - 10.0

There is a lot to do in Merano, rain or shine. Of course, there are the local & famous walkways, the mountain hikes, bike trails, and the Dolomites are nearby. On rainy days, there are castles, the Terme spa/pools. Overall, it's a very nice town with a lot to do.Guest review byLisaUnited States - 8.0
This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives.
This is further to my previous review on Garni Rives. I gave the hotel a review that reflects my honest opinion, mainly about the manager/host of the hotel. Obviously my review was not received with warmth from the hotel manager. He messaged me immediately via Whatsapp and blamed me being not polite to him, I have no idea where does this come from. I believe he has broken the golden rule of being in me the hospitality industry, if he cannot accept honest reviews, how can he improve to thrive on? The hotel itself is OK and the only problem I have is the steep climb (not the hotel's fault) and mainly the manager's manner.Guest review byAnthonyAustralia - 10.0

For those who may not know, Val Gardena is comprised of...
For those who may not know, Val Gardena is comprised of three distinct areas; Selva, Ortisei and Santa Cristina. My advice on where to stay is to try and figure out which mountain ranges you plan on hitting. That said, all three locations are very close together, and you can access them all within ten minute on the same bus. Personally, I would stick to Selva or Ortisei simply because of their access to vastly different mountain areas. Santa Cristina is snuggled between the two and didn't have as much to offer, IMO.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Nice and clean apartment. Even we only had contact with the host via the chat, the host was very helpful though. The location of apartment was perfect. It's located in the city center. Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town. There is a train station for trips to other nearby towns or into Austria. The bus service is excellent. You can go for hikes up the Dolomites and reach the famous three peaks. So much to do. The drinking water is amazing.Guest review byMonica - 10.0

Kronplatz is everyone's favorite skiing destination. Many slopes of varying difficulty. Something for everyone. All are very well groomed every single night. Lifts are refreshed / replaced by newer at extreme rates. Parking at the bottom station of the gondola is the best that you will ever experience and the price is quite affordable.Guest review byJurajCroatia - 10.0

Castelrotto/Kasteruth is a delightful town set in beautiful surroundings and is we thought just the right size. Large enough to have two supermarkets , a number of choices for restaurants/Cafes , a Pharmacy , a number of clothes shopping opportunities but small enough that we never felt over crowded. It is delightful to see young children laughing their way off to school early morning. And there is a Gelato shop! There is a brand new lift that goes up to several delightful mountain walks at 1,500 metres , as I recall, and a restaurant and play area for children at the top.Guest review bySteveW57Australia
