Newly opened hotel. Was really looking forward to this, and it didn't dissapoint me at all! Central location, just infront of Omi-ichiba. I loved the whole concept of the hotel with modern Japanese but with a touch of traditional Japanese design. Great bath on the ground floor, clean and nice, open til late night. Guest room with separate bath and toilet, good amenities, toothbrush/paste, teabags, teacups, glasses, hairdryer, fridge, slippers, nice roomware. Clean room, liked the beds! Enough space. Central location but still very quiet and comfortable room. Restaurants and shops, supermarket nearby.

Walking on socks and yukatas is great!!! Breakfast was amazing. Onsen, was really nice as well, both men and women. Room was quite big for Japan. 6min walk from the train station! I will for sure recommend and return when possible. View from our room was also great and the sound isolation is very good.

Our room was beautifully designed, with meticulous attention to detail. The blend of comfort and style was perfect, and we especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the beautiful bathroom. It was clear that everything was thoughtfully curated to enhance the guest experience. The location is ideal—a short walk from the train station and from Kanazawa’s main attractions like Kenrokuen Garden and the Omicho Market, yet wonderfully peaceful. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient. One highlight of our stay was the staff!. Every detail reflected the hotel’s dedication to quality and authenticity. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return to Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kanazawa—this hotel truly elevates the experience of this beautiful city!

You can play guitar as well using their property which is rare Providing complete amenities are very helpful like travel charger, even shirt and short pants in size M and L feel free to use it, there is hairdryer in the room. We can watch netflix etc. Wifi Ok. no problem, very easy access to the station like maybe only 2 mins walk and you also can buy groceries inside Mt fuji station (the nearest to the hotel) easy to find, recommended

The best hotel we stayed at in Japan during our one-month trip. The location was perfect—just a short walk from the train station. Our room was spacious, spotless, and came with a lovely bathroom featuring both a relaxing bath and an amazing shower. We were pleasantly surprised to find facial cleansing and foot massage appliances in the room, which felt wonderful after a long day out. Considering all this, the price was an incredible deal. I highly recommend this hotel.

    Such a beautiful city. Surrounding burbs Awesome! Put like this. Prada, Gucci, Lois Vitton, Armani, the list long. Why go to hectic Tokyo when Nagoya offers all the rich city life without the intensity of Tokyo. I was highly impressed. I have travelled a great deal. I liked this city better than New York, Chicago, Atlanta, LA. So beautiful, easy to navigate, wonderful to walk around. Surrounding burbs so beautiful! One last thought, all the US cities listed are dirty, trash laden, crime filled destinations. New York smells like a sewer, scaffolding that NEVER ENDS, piles of trash at night, a nighmare. I don't see this in Japan.

    Really liked downshifting from Tokyo and spending 2 nights in Kanazawa--a third might have even been right. The gardens, architecture, restaurants. Would definitely recommend to anyone who asked where to stop during a Japan vacation.

    Takayama has a mix of quaint old architecture and modern smalltown buildings. It is less crowded than Kyoto and great for exploring on foot. Takayama is also a great base for making day trips to places like the Shirakawa-go Unesco heritage site, Kamikochi nature park and Shinhotaka Ropeway. The Nohi Bus Centre next to Takayama Station is excellently run and provides efficient transport services to these attractions.

    We were able to take great pictures of Mt Fuji from our window. The onsen and buffet was great. The price was affordable for a group of 8 with free breakfast and dinner. The room was clean and Yukata was included. Highly recommended

    We really liked Matsumoto and it was a much more fun and interesting city than we expected. We had an overnight stay, largely to visit the famous castle, after visiting Kiso valley. Would happily have stayed longer.

    I've been extremely lucky, I was in Niigata after a snowstorm and I found an amazing scenery of beaches under a white carpet. The fisherman market is an experience you should not miss, delicious food and crazy cheap bill. Try to drive the coastline!

    Shizuoka is a hidden gem.

    Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

    I went to Nagano to do historical research at three separate facilities about an hours drive from central Nagano City. -- My main objective was visiting the Underground Imperial Headquarters 松代大本営地下壕 (松代象山地下壕) at Matsushiro. The tunnel system is impressive, and the museum next to it adds a lot of background. -- I visited the Hijiri Aviation Museum 聖博物館 in Omi, which displays items and posters full of info about its past as a stop for those on the way to Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City, as well as having a few combat aircraft and a main gun from the Japanese Battleship Mutsu. In an out-of-the-way place. -- I also went to the Mugonkan 戦没画学生慰霊美術館 無言館 in Ueda City. A very somber place since it introduces Japanese artists (showing a couple of their paintings) who died during the war years. Also in a rather remote location. It's unfortunate that all three have signs and displays that are almost exclusively in Japanese. Non-Japanese speakers who are interested in World War II history and happen to be near Nagano may still get something out of a self-tour of the tunnel system in Matsushiro, which is interesting to see in person (and cool in summer). The Wikipedia entry for it seems accurate, much more than you can find on site in English. Be aware that cameras are allowed at Hijiri, but cannot be used in the Mugonkan and in the Matsushiro museum (the tunnels are okay). I don't recommend taking kids to any of these sites.

    People there are very helpful and courteous.

    People there are very helpful and courteous. It is very clean, and uncongested. Quiet and peaceful, unlike the other cities. I highkt recommend pairing Toyama and Tetayama, i.e. 3 and 2 nights respectively . Simply amazing.

    Quiet seaside town with no tourists apart from us. Easy to get to from Osaka. Stayed in a traditional ryokan (tattoo friendly). Spent the day walking along the harbour to the ropeway up to Atami castle which had several different art displays and museums including an adults only one and a great view of the coast. Away from the beach things were pretty steep so a car might have been a sensible option
