The property was serene and very comfortable. We admire the traditional Japanese style and concept of this property. It had numerous areas to enjoy, such as their lobby which served coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, their restaurants that offered course meals for breakfast and dinner, their private and public onsen, and many more. The room was very spacious and clean. It was very peaceful.

Very convenient location right by the main Niigata station and Shinkansen and buses to access the rest of the Niigata city. The breakfast was excellent and had many fresh local speciality’s and both traditional Japanese dishes and western foods. The station is also right near a hopping izakaya district with cheap drinks and great snacks, and the close proximity to the hotel means that it’s 3 min walk. We were worried that the trains and downtown area would be loud but the hotel was well insulated from outside sounds, and we only occasioally hear our neighbours through the walls but overall very quite and we had a great sleep.

The room like that I choose is the Japanese style. It's have 2 room inside, 1 bedroom and 1 the living room. I have to do my work go sleep late but it not disturb my family, they can sleep well. It's very near to the shopping center. Have family mart near here open 24 hour if that you need something in the night time. It's really worth it to stay here. Im recommend

This is an all inclusive property with hotel, restaurants and snow activities all in one. Really convenient for families as everything you can want or need is in one place. We ate at various restaurants on the property and everything was really delicious which was a nice surprise. My youngest daughter took snowboarding lessons and the process and instructor was amazing! It is one of the best ski resorts for beginner. The slope is a good challenge for newbies and the lift ticket is cheap and not crowded at all. I can get to snowboarding right in the back of the hotel. I would recommend it for families with elderly and kids. The dinner is included and it is very good and delicious.

we had a local guide who helped us booked some activities like Shoji door making, which we learned about shoji paper and how the paper on the doors are replaced. Kara no Toy Box by Package craft artist Kazuma Takahashi, is a very interesting experience! My kids enjoyed the workshop and they managed to make a deer out of used chocolate cardboard packaging, its very creative and good activity for rainy day, which is what we encountered.

Surprisingly, although it is a small town, there are plenty of good restaurants and lots of outdoor activities. We could have spent a day just walking at Yuzawa Kogen region. Lovely onsen feel to the whole place. And if you miss the city, Niigata is just 40min by train (Tokyo station is just about 1.5 hours by shinkansen). There are several good restaurants and izakayas along the main street, and even at Echigo Yuzawa station, including an exquisite Italian Muran Gozzo cafe with house-made smoked salmon, pork terrine, wagyu carpaccio, seasonal wild vegetable pickles etc. The train station also has a foot bath, local produce market and supermarket. Of course the highland air is fresh and cool.

Myoko is an incredible region of fun, the mountains offer heaps of ski resorts with fantastic runs, lessons, places to dine and sit with a hot beverage or refreshen beer or sake. Its wonderful for both families and those who are daring to hit the slopes for thrills. The hotel shuttles, local buses and taxis make travel from resort to various slopes, very easy. The locals are exceptionally helpful and friendly.

The snow in Myoko is otherworldly.

The snow in Myoko is otherworldly. The powder is unimaginably great and really loved visiting Seki Onsen Ski Area. It's a small, family-owned ski area run by the Inoue Family who are the kindest and most hospitable people you'll find anywhere in Japan. Family-owned and run ski areas are in decline with large corporations buying up ski areas across Japan, so it was a real treat to ski at an area where the snow was perfect and you're supporting a local business. 10 our 10 for Seki Onsen Ski Area!

Nigatta was a much slower pace. Feels like Sunday everyday. Chilled. It has fabulous restaurants and little local bars, great scenery. Definitely worth a visit for a few days. The bullet train ride from Tokyo to Niigata had lots of beautiful scenery along the way. So glad we decided to visit here on our third trip to Japan. Incredibly easy to get around with such an efficient bus service.

Yuzawa is an excellent place for winter sports and onsen.

Yuzawa is an excellent place for winter sports and onsen. It's very easy to get to by public transport and quite affordable. It can, however, get quite crowded on weekend and holidays during peak season so we were glad to have gone a little further to Naeba. During peak times, however, it could be challenging to find a place to eat so you might need to book restaurants in advance to avoid disappointment!
