The hotel is in the middle of the tea plantation with an incredible view. The staff is super kind and always available for any requests. The amenities are gorgeous and refined in all details, surrounded by a very well maintained garden. Dinner available (but you need to reserve) and breakfast was excellent. There’s also a lovely swing for instagram photos :) Would love to return!

The accommodation is beautiful. It has a lot of charm with the stones and the wood. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. It was 14 degrees outside an it did have a radiator, which we were happy to use. The bed was very comfortable and the accommodation was clean. There was a multi-plug socket in the room where several plugs fit so we didn't need an adapter.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Croft Cottage! The property is a stunning British-style 3-storey villa, beautifully designed and immaculately maintained. The location is excellent, making it both peaceful and convenient. The cottage has lovely common areas that make it feel warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing together. All facilities are top-notch, thoughtfully provided, and everything worked seamlessly. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Taranga, the housekeeper, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable in every way. His attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care made the experience exceptional — he truly elevated our time here. Overall, Croft Cottage is the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and luxury.     A very quality stay. The place is a former holiday house of Sri Lanka‘s (independent) first PM. It‘s a good, sturdy house whose architecture is influenced by that of England (a common thing in Nuwara Eliya in general). Our room was spacious, had a very nice view on (I reckon) their garden. Or, some plantation. Anyway, it was green and beautiful and moody (because it‘s raining pretty much non-stop in Nuwara Eliya). Bathroom was big and clean and with hot water. There was a bathtub beside the shower but we didn‘t give it a try. It felt like we were the only visitors and the guys were cooking just for us. Kind of a private chef experience. Food was good. However, don‘t take their Full English Breakfast option — it was mediocre at best. Their Indian and Lankan options are 10x better.

    AMAZING!! Throwback to colonial Ceylon with a modern sustainable touch. Where to start.. the fire place? the beautifully cut bushes in the garden? the amazing breakfast and dinner? the super comfortable beds and spacious rooms? the environmental conscious (no plastic, waste water treatment, etc) projects in the hotel? Everything was a 10/10! The price for the night is absolutely great for the value. The staff is very friendly, rooms are super comfy!! The dinner was a bit pricey for Sri Lanka but absolutely delicious. Totally recommend!

    One of the best places we visited during our stay in Sri Lanka. They have fabulous rooms. You feel like an aristocrat living in the 19th century during breakfast and dinner and regard that you didn't bring a suit with you. The facility is located near a tea field that you can visit, also the hotel organized a tour to the nearest tea factory which was also an excellent experience.

Incredible views and so quiet, all you hear are birds. Food is good too. It’s in a quiet area off Nuwara Eliya closer to Horton Plains and really made our trip.

    Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

    A nice area to do a lot of treks amongst the tea plantations . central location if you need to drive up to hill station of Nuwera Eliya or experience the wild life at Horton Plains, A lot of Hindu Kovils to explore in town of Hatton and Tea Factory experience at Dunkeld Tea Factory.

    Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

    If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

    Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

    Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be...

    Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

    Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.
