They organised lunch for us on our arrival which was above and beyond what we expected. The gentleman with the glasses who delivered our induction (apologies I cannot remember his name), was so friendly and welcoming, he (and the rest of the team) went above and beyond to make sure this experience was unforgettable! The food was amazing both nights, and catered to dietary requirements. We ate outside under the stars both nights which was lovely. The tent itself was perfect for our needs, the bed was comfortable and we slept very well both nights. You could hear nature which was wonderful. Solomon is a very knowledgeable and interesting man, he provided great insight into the nature around the camp very locally and also in the safari park. We booked our safari through Big Game Camp and had Solomon as our guide which we could not recommend more, he was quick at pointing out a myriad of animals, whilst also being aware that the park is a safari not a zoo so you are not guaranteed to see anything, despite this we saw many elephants, different species of birds, mongoose etc. We would recommend this to anyone travelling to Sri Lanka!!Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom

It’s very easy to underestimate how much work goes into making a jungle camp so comfortable and welcoming. Sami and his team go above and beyond to provide an unforgettable experience and they genuinely want to give all their guests a trip to remember. As novice campers we were a little apprehensive but the beds are comfy, the toilet and shower functional and the food is delicious. They even catered brilliantly for our children’s dietary needs. The safari trip was well organised the guide knew his animals! We even had a beautiful early morning boat ride on the river. The staff we’re fantastic and took us on a private safari in Udawalawe (about 25 minutes away) where we got so close to the elephants. They also arranged a guided canoe trip on the nearby lake - sadly no bathing elephants this time but plenty of other wildlife to see. The evening meal we had there was perhaps the best curry I have ever eaten and all of this at exceptionally good prices. In the middle of a poor village, you will find yourself in a garden of Eden behind the gates of Eliyanth. We were looked after by very nice and attentive staff here. The cooking is excellent, we ate probably the best rice and curry here. They even made us a takeaway breakfast pack for the 5:30am morning safari. The Country Side Hotel at Uda Walawe is a very nice place right off the main road. Rooms are spacious and clean, overlooking a ~10m long swimming pool within the trees. It is a very nice please to stay overnight before an early morning safari. Breakfast is excellent, as the warm staff members. Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome. The welcome coffee was the best time of my life. Not only that, I was surprised because the pool was so clean and beautiful. And another best option is that my friends also went on safari with them so we organized the safari with them. The driver is very friendly and has 10 years of experience. This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip!
