An unusual but very rewarding experience, my first time in a capsule, but when you have a 6am flight, this really works. Very quiet, impeccably clean, all amenities at hand, friendly and helpful desk service, some night snacks in the fridge, and sandwiches for breakfast. The room was fantastic. The bed was super comfortable and though the hotel was located on a main street, there was no noise. We had a room on the front side of the hotel and the views were spectacular. The bathroom floor was heated and what a comfort and pleasure it was during a November stay. The housekeeping was excellent and the rooms were kept clean. The kitchenette is basic and okay for maybe heating something but doesn't really serve well for cooking a full meal. The cupboards are spacious and the seating area in the room was also ample.

As for 3 start hotel, this was better than I expected. What stood out was the design of the hotel, that pictures don't capture. Rooms basic, mattresses are comfy and sparkling clean. The only down side was no kettle / tea / coffee in the room but stuff enthusiastically provided with hot water. The restaurant is worth of extra mentioning. Everything was excellent - staff, food and wines. Breakfast was also very satisfying. Highly recommend this place.

    I came by train from Riga. The campsite is about an 18-minute walk away, with the sea at a similar distance. The site offers plenty of activities, like SUP boarding, and has direct access to Lake Lielupe. The internet connection is strong enough to work right from the lakeside, which I loved. I could even look straight at the lake from my bed. The host is always present and very helpful. As a solo traveler, I really enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to come back.

    I was really disappointed with my recent visit to this city.

    I was really disappointed with my recent visit to this city. A few years ago, everything here was wonderful – people were kind, welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm. Unfortunately, this time it was the complete opposite. People seemed angry, unfriendly, and aggressive. No one smiled, and rudeness was very common. The worst experience was with taxi drivers. They didn’t greet or say goodbye, didn’t help with luggage – neither putting a suitcase in the trunk nor taking it out – and their overall attitude was simply terrible. Sadly, this visit left me with a very negative impression, and it was nothing like the city I remembered before. The only truly amazing place we found was Kwak Inn on Dome Square. It was super-duper! The staff there were friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Compared to the rest of the disappointing experience in the city, this place really stood out in the best possible way.

    There is spa available for day pass £25 for adult for 2.5 hours in Jurmala Spa hotel. No need to book in, walk in welcome. Excellent facilities and kids friendly lots to do. I went twice wile on my trip. Lots of lovely restaurants, bubs and shops to explore for all liking. You can have lovely walk on the beach, it has activitys available and Caffè to enjoy during and view even if it's windy.

    I like the hotel because of its location, cleanliness and customer service at the reception. I did not like the restaurant and its staff because they do not serve enough food at the breakfast even though you pay for it. If you do not go to breakfast early, you only get some leftovers. They do not bring any additional food for missing items.

    Great small town.

    Great small town. Big attractions are the castle; the forest walks for hikers; the nearby outdoor activity centre with kayaking etc; lovely restaurants and cafes - good food but not expensive. Friendly people, courteous drivers, feels very safe to stroll around.

    In march the was not much happening in the town. Rates Varti restaurant was cosy but the dishes were served almost cold. The lunch in the Wolmar Hotel cost only 6 euros beeing well worth it. The Olympic Casino was a strange place for gambling addicts.

    A hidden pearl of Latvia and Old Livonia with an island resort in the middle. Despite being almost 200 km from the seashore the city had an inspiring shore holiday feel with a great beach side island in the middle of the city. Great place to learn about the history and the origin of written Latvian language.

    This is a very walkable city.

    This is a very walkable city. A lot of roads are cobbles so sensible footwear is advised. We plotted the main sights on Google maps, and got around everywhere in a day. The KGB building is worth seeing the free exhibition. (,tours have to be booked in advance).it is not on the same site s the Occupation Museum, which confused us. Google. The Corner House for the KGB museum.

I attended opera "Parcifal" 09.08.2025 in there and this only Oņegins great example of how much interesting events are took place in the town during entire year.
