Quaint Butique Hotel was a very nice place the room was very comfortable and clean ! The Staff of the hotel was lovely and always with a smile on their face ! The location is the only downside witch is not that bad because to get to all the facilities parties , restaurants or even cafes you need to take bus and for many of the a boat if they are In Malta but if I had to do it again I would prefer to stay in that hotel than to be closer to all those things !

FAQs about hotels on Gozo

Shaped by Sea and Settler

On peaceful Gozo, red-domed churches pop up behind cactus hedges and rolling countryside gives way to impressive coastlines. The 2nd largest Maltese island is a short ferry ride from Malta, and between them is little Comino, whose beautiful Blue Lagoon is popular for swimming.

The ferry docks in the small Mgarr port, overlooking brightly painted Maltese fishing boats. Xewkija is the largest town and has the largest church, but Victoria (or Rabat) is the capital. Its walled citadel offers fabulous views across the island towards distant Malta.

Set around a sheltered bay, Marsalforn has the most Gozo hotels, while Xlendi on the opposite side of the island is in a cleft between 2 cliffs which offers beautiful views of the setting sun. At neighbouring Sannat, cliffs plunge spectacularly into the sea, but the most impressive rock formation is the Azure Window on the coast below Gharb and San Lawrenz, home to one of the 5-star hotels in Gozo.

The island also has a rich history - the Ggantija Temples in Xaghra are remains of its Neolithic period. A village dating to Arabic times is Ghasri, the island’s smallest and one of the closest to the popular Gozo diving spot – Wied il-Ghasri.

Booking.com has a good range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Gozo in each of these characteristic places.

Been there several times and keep coming back. Favourite place, the harbour wall in the late afternoon sun. Ate out in the many local restaurants. Lots of building works going on in Marsalforn and the local roadworks have been going on for some time and are set to continue for the rest of the year.

This Gozo village/town is easily reached by bus from the ferry or from Victoria. Unlike other parts of Gozo and Malta, it does not suffer from over-tourism or large, high-rise developments. The central square is dominated by the large church at one end. There are about a dozen restaurants in this central area. We lived the wide choice of eating places and "watering holes". This is no party venue for the young, but a more sedate venue for the descerning visitor. It can get quite busy in the evenings as there is a road and bus route through the piazza. We did a number of walks from the village and also visited the old windmill, the toy museum, the Neolithic park and Mixta cave overlooking Ramla beach. On one day of our week-long stay we walked a 7 mile section of the coastal path from Ramla to the Masalforn salt pans. This could challenge hikers who are not fit due to the steepness of the path - inadvisable in wet weather as the path has muddy sections. Like most places in Malta and Gozo, there is a lot of discarded rubbish and lots of dog shit. Apparently many dog owners cannot read or will not comply with the frequent signs warning of the consequences of failing to clear up the dog's mess. Pavements - the proprietors each property with a street frontage appear to be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the pavement (broadwalk). There is zero uniformity in height, width, finish, condition or angle. Consequently it is near-impossible to use the pavements and pedestrians are obliged to walk on the roads. Certainly not ideal for buggies or people with mobility issues. The place grew on us as the week - we have no immediate or pressing plans or desires to return.

The Maltese were friendly, helpful, accommodating and immensely proud of their country. They were happy to answer questions about their town and country and make suggestions on sightseeing. The local buses were the best and cheapest form of transport with a weekly Tallinja card. Excellent food prepared with fresh ingredients was readily available. A Wind Band recital in the town square was an unexpected highlight of the visit.

The boardwalk, swimming areas and waterfront restaurant selection was great! Stunning sunsets over the bay. However: The 4 wheeler tours are horribly loud and disruptive to the peaceful atmosphere as they drive through the village several times daily. That’s a huge shame on Gozo for allowing those.

Nadur is an excellent basecamp for exploring both Malta and the island of Gozo. It’s a peaceful destination with no noise, very few tourists, and none of the usual party crowds – no rowdy groups or bachelor parties. For families with children, it truly is an ideal choice. The town has a small but charming center with a pleasant square and several good restaurants. Supermarkets and all essentials are conveniently close by, so you’ll find everything you need without hassle. From the promenade, there are also stunning views that make evening walks unforgettable. Many wonderful places within a short drive to enjoy the stay - to name Ramla, San Blas or Hondoq. A perfect place to stay if you’re looking for comfort, tranquility, and easy access to discover the beauty of Gozo and Malta.

Qala is a quite village with vibrant nights in summer. There are some local bars and restaurants which are open daily during the day and night. It's just up the road from the Mgarr harbour, and close to Nadur, Xaghra, and Victoria. You need to pass through Qala to go through Hondoq bay, which is very popular with the locals and tourists.

    4 days in Gozo.

4 days in Gozo. One evening we took the hotel bus to San Lawrenz for a Sunday evening fiesta. One afternoon we took the bus to Victoria and watched the sunset from the Citadel. Another day we hired a car from Avis down the road and enjoyed stopping at the salt pans, at some great snorkel spots, visited Ta’Pina church, had lunch at Xlendi and then sunset spots at opposite end of island. Final day we took the ferry to Comino and swam in the pretty (but busy) Blue lagoon. Swam across to the mini Comino and through some caves which was fun. Then returned in the afternoon to spend more time by the hotel pool.

We stayed during the feast at end July, but we knew what to expect, fireworks/patards and church bells from 8am, church bands in evening and events happening all week. Otherwise at other times, Sannat is a lovely quiet village with band club, football club, small supermarket and bar close to property. Bus stop with hourly bus service into Rabat/Victoria, where you can get other busses to other areas. Or use Bolt (similar to Uber) app to call for taxi as island is not big easy to get around.
