Leon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich in Mexican culture and history. It's also Mexico's leather goods and shoe production / sale center. If you don't plan a trip to Leon as a destination but are visiting Guanajuato or San Miguel de Allende you won't go wrong making a day-trip to Leon.

Completely charming town with spectacular architecture.

Completely charming town with spectacular architecture. Not as over-touristed as we expected and easy to get around. Our visit was during the Fiera (Festival) and there were processions and a major concert on the plaza. Food choices are endless in all price ranges. None of the restaurants we went to were crowded. Uber was readily available and very inexpensive. Highly recommend taking the bus (we used ETN) instead of driving in. The parking is very limited in the central core.

If you like shopping in a charming town with a lot of character and history, Guanajuato is fantastic! You definitely do not need a car, parking is very limited. There are so many small artisan shops, museums, art galleries. Make sure you have comfy waking shoes. Check out Guanajuato’s oficial website for upcoming festivals in case you want attend or avoid.

I liked cibeles, restaurants sabor a café, café boulevard, el rincon del cafe, mi lindo sinaloa, it's easy to get around the city in camión, or Uber and taxi even they sometimes overcharge, use common sense when you are in certain areas, don't show valuables such as jewelry, money, or cell phones, be careful at all times and enjoy your visit

I wanted to go to the market and the plaza, but the traffic, particularly the bike and motorcycle traffic, were seriously dangerous. Very crowded and not picturesque to see (what I saw). I changed plans and departed for the hotel. But, if looking for places to eat, I recommend Los Plebes, an outdoor covered restaurant with great food and good service between town center and the airport.

Salamanca is not really a tourist area.

Salamanca is not really a tourist area. I was there visiting Mexican family. if you are not Mexican it is not a very safe place to be. It has a large refinery which burns off gases 24/7. Whereas Guanajuato is a lovely town nearby to stay and visit. Lots to see and do. It's a student town and tourists will feel safe here.

The hotel was located near downtown and many restaurants. The city of Dolores has a lot of history to visit, and people are very friendly and helpful. The Restaurant Mama Mia is a great place to eat, and the Entertainment is great. Highly recommend it. If you are looking for a great culture experience and a good hotel, I recommend both.

I personally did not like that the lost and found department are not reliable. I left my information to front desk for them to call me back regarding my adidas shoes and pants I left In my room, However no call was ever returned. I won’t be staying here, there has to be more respect for people’s belongings that are left behind. It’s a hotel these type of situations happen, and for them not to return your items is wrong.

Loved my time in SMA, was there for a week with a group of friends. We did a Walking Tour with Follow Me Tours (Jalal is the best tour guide I've ever had, anywhere, high praise I know, but try to book with her if you can). We went to the Botanical Gardens and would highly recommend a trip there. Dos Buhos for a tour of a vineyard and wine tasting is hard to beat. La Aurora is very cool - it was a fabric factory and is now this very awesome collection of shops, art galleries and sculptures. There are also restaurants. And we went to Los Senderos which is more of a beach club if you're into something a little fancy for an afternoon. They have paddle boarding and different pools to swim in, and it was relaxing and lovely. Did not make it to La Gruta for hot springs, but heard it's great, next time (I will be back)! But mostly you'll want to walk around Zona Centro, the heart of San Miguel de Allende. There's always something happening. While we were there there was a food festival and there were also many artists displaying artwork and vendors with beautiful jewelry. The people we met were so warm and wonderful. It's a very special city, cobblestone streets and incredible architecture. You definitely feel like you're in a little European town, but with the beautiful Mexican culture flowing everywhere.

Guanajuato Centro is an absolutely stunning destination, brimming with vibrant colors and an enchanting old-world charm. You'll find yourself immersed in a delightful array of museums, unique shops, and delicious restaurants, all contributing to an unforgettable visit. Navigating Centro is a breeze, as most attractions are easily walkable. While the area is popular and you'll encounter many vendors offering tours and restaurant promotions, a friendly smile and wave are all it takes if you're not interested. For those who love to party, Centro's nightlife is lively and extends late into the evening. If you're looking to be in the heart of the action, staying within Centro is ideal. However, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, you might consider accommodations just outside the main downtown area. Overall, Guanajuato Centro is a charming, fun, and major tourist destination with an abundance to explore. You're sure to have a fantastic time!
