- From $746.21 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.1Good - What previous guests thought, 167 reviewsOne of the most amazing vacations we have had in a while! The staff, the rooms, the ambiance, clean beaches, conveniently located, everything was amazing! We spent 5 days here and honestly was so relaxing. Wifi was great, air conditioning, room amenities, all fantastic. I will say the private pool was cozy, although the water was not temperature controlled. The staff is wonderful at assisting with setting up dinner reservations, Cenote tours, towels for the beach, etc. We came in October when the season is slower and with lower occupancy was really nice. Saturday night is their beach club party and well worth it. Pro tip, buy water and alcohol from local convenient store and keep in your room. Water is $6 per bottle everywhere and that adds up just as fast as alcohol. During the party, you can go back to your room and have a few before returning for the party. :) Highly recommend asking the staff for bicycle rentals and using them to get to places during the day! At night however, be mindful and get a taxi for your safety. When we go back to Tulum, high chance we will come stay at PPP again!Guest review byCarolineUnited States
- From $881.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 636 reviewsI stayed one night at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun and it was so much fun!! Our room had this amazing ocean view. The music around the hotel was nonstop and gave the whole place such a fun, energetic vibe. The staff were super nice, and there was always something going on, from cool drinks to fun by the pool. Even though it was just one night, it felt like a mini vacation packed with good vibes and pretty views. Totally recommend if you wanna have a good time and feel like a rockstar.Guest review byAmandaMexico

Great people, great food, and no worries about ICE dragging people away. Also, it is not the cheap Mexico you may be thinking of. All of the prices except dental work were the same as in the US. Nothing cheap there anymore, not in Cancun anyway.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

The main Playa del Carmen beaches ( Mamitas Beach, Pelicanos Beach and the one next to the Ferries are very very narrow as the sea is rapidly eroding them; thus there is very little space to sit and wherever you are, you will have locals playing loud music on their portable music players. A really beautiful wide beach with a jungle backdrop is the Coco beach which is about 2 miles long and easily accessible. The other very good beach is Playacar beach which is also long and wide but has hotels between the palms, the whole way along.Guest review byrobertUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Monsoon season, meant a lot of sea weed on beaches although locals trying to keep of top of its removal and in the sea , stopping swimming, mosquitoes due to damp humid weather . Taxi is very expensive as no other public transport,so they can charge what they want , hire of scooters is cheaper.Guest review byCharmainUnited Kingdom - 10

It’s a tiny town, best to get around with a car but taxis are available too. It has a proper Caribbean vibe and the lagoon is just fantastic - really clean, warm and sweet water. We also enjoyed the food at La Playita restaurant.Guest review byKlaudiaPoland - 10
It’s as rustic and modern as this want it to be.
It’s as rustic and modern as this want it to be. Great restaurants, authentic city center with people playing volleyball, cool quads runner taxis, sand streets, great beachfront areas and clubs of any styles and prices. People were amazing, music was popping, cool clothing and shops and tours and all of the stuff you’d want to do. At the same time you could totally do nature and simple and rustic and all those other buzz words. I’ve been to a few places in the world but few have stolen my heart like Holbox and the people that love and work there.Guest review bytygartUnited States - 8.0
I have been visiting Cozumel for 15 years, for diving.
I have been visiting Cozumel for 15 years, for diving. While the people are friendly and the number of good restaurants has increased over that time, unfortunately the reef has been degraded effecting the diving experience. Its is my contention the powers that control Cozumel care more about making money from cruise ships than the environment, local people or infrastructure of Cozumel.Guest review byRobertaCanada - 10
In the 1990s, Isla was less-developed with fewer beach...
In the 1990s, Isla was less-developed with fewer beach hotels. The entire north end was one large beach with unpaved streets, rather primitive and exotic, and the experience was low cost. Over the years the beach has lost a lot of sand due to some severe hurricanes and sand-bag berms have been built out to prevent more erosion. The streets were paved with block pavers and the addition of hotels has brought more tourists. These changes are probably inevitable considering the growth direction of tourism and its economic importance, but it's been more or less as it is now for the last 20 years in which we've visited many times. Compared to Playa Del Carmen which has changed dramatically, and Tulum which now has an international airport, it's kept its essential character by being isolated from the rest of the coast, and is still a great place to unwind, snorkel, and stroll the streets, beaches and rocky north coast. There is a singular charm about the island and it's residents and labor force that ferry over from Cancun, that keeps us coming back and I hope that never changes. The restaurants, to their credit, have improved over the years and that is a pleasant advancement.Guest review byGaryUnited States - 10

My FAVORITE cenotes were at Sac Actun and Ecopark Kantun Chi. Sac Actun requires a guide, but it's not as expensive as some of the other places. The cenote is beautiful and they provide you with wetsuits (which helps a LOT with the cold) and goggles. It was a very cool experience. Ecopark Kantun Chi has 5 cenotes but we bought the entrance that allows you to go 4 of them without a guide. For us, this was perfect because we could spend as much time as we wanted at each spot and they were all so different and beautiful. I loved #3, which was an open sky cenote with a waterfall and #4, which was a really cool cave with spots where the sunlight streamed in from above. We got to see some lobsters there too. Also a very cool feature is that there are kayaks in several of the cenotes so you get to explore them that way as well. Another cool spot was Languna Yal Ku where we got to snorkel in calm water and see so many different types of fish. I highly recommend wearing clothing that covers your arms and legs since sunscreen isn't permitted and you are directly exposed to the sun the whole time. For meals, we enjoyed traveling to both Akumal Pueblo (for some simple and cheaper meals) and Akumal Playa on the other side of the road for some more variety.Guest review byNatasha
