It was impeccably clean with quality products such as shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom. The extra touches of free tea and coffee plus fruit and nuts were very welcome. We enjoyed an excellent dinner at the restaurant and were very impressed with the friendly, helpful staff.

Everything. Tromso Lodge and Camping made my trip incredible. We were a group of four so we stayed in two explorer cabins with a river view. It was a magical stay, with the snow and the sound of the running water. The cabins are perfectly comfortable for two people, the beds were very nice and the heated floor ensured we were never cold. Tromso Lodge and Camping is not far from the city and I'm sure during warmer months walking is not a problem. During the winter you can take a bus to the town center, the stop is located a short 10 minutes walk from the Lodge.

We had breakfast in the apartment and it was exceptional, cheese, meats, salmon, bread, juice, yogurt, oats etc
The location was remarkable, unable to capture its grandeur in a photograph. The weather changing frequently like magic, one minute fjord and mountains and then they'd all disappear behind a cloud and as quickly as it came, the cloud would clear and we'd have the beautiful view again. Also, many stars at night when weather permitted.

There are no words to express the happiness we felt stayin at this hotel. The location and the surroundings are extraordinarly beautiful and quiet.
The room was very clean, well equipt and super designed. The view from our room was amazing. All the personnel was very kind.
The hotel is by all means the best choice on Senja island.
I strongly recommend.
Big hugs to the management team and to all the staff that made our stay so wonderful!

The hotel is wonderful. Rooms are very cozy, you can adjust your own temperature. Bathroom was specious. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast selection was spectacular, so many varieties from warm foods to tasty croissants and even selection of plant based milks. The location is perfect, away from the city, but within reach or some hiking options and of course the northern lights are clearly visible there.

The apartment is beautifully decorated and very practical. The breakfast is DELICIOUS!!! The restaurant is amazingly beautiful and the staff is beyond friendly and helpful, they really made our stay so enjoyable and remarkable with their attentions. The breakfast is amazing, very healthy and delicious at the same time. There is also a buffet for having dinner. The hotel is in close distance to the airport and close to bus stations. In case you are attending a conference, it is just in front and connected to the university.

This place really extended out expectations. Place was very clean, beds comfy, staff nice, competent and very helpful, and the salmon for breakfast... exceptional. I must say it was really pleasant stay in beautiful cozy city on fjords. We were able to rest between the hikes.

Sensational! Great Hotel.
Sensational! Great Hotel. Good location. 5mins from airport by car, bus, or taxi. Good transportation- Brilliant Bus Network. Main Capital was really nice, had everything! Food, culture, modern, historical, fashion, shops. Found people very friendly, whether in shops or general public. Sightseeing was brilliant and there was so much more that we didn’t even do. Something for everyone!
Definitely going to go back in the summertime just to see the contrast! And the Northern Lights made the Complete

A gateway to other areas like Lofoten. My recommendation is to stay further afield to the full extent you can. as things like quiet, darkness and views all improve a lot away from the airport.
And once you do... it can be magic.

Nice place for a short stay.
Nice place for a short stay. Without a car you run out of options quickly. Smaller hiking trips and ski tours possible in the valley. Northern lights possible when there is no midnight sun. No supermarket in the village.

Very picturesque island, two days is more than enough to explore it. Sunshine is a rarity. End of season mid August. Place for camper vans to park. One shop and one cafe. You can buy only beer in a shop, no alcohol. For a harder spirits you need to travel to Tromso. Bring your food if you can, shops sells very simple and not very good staff. More or less decent meal you can have in an arctic hotel, which is pricey and just ok, no more, choice is limited.

The price was too high for the poor accommodation we had during our stay in the lodge: the apartment we booked was not available at our arrive and they move us to a cabin with old furniture, that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned well, the terrace was partially occupied by old furniture. We had the impression to be in a location very good during the Summer time, but not yet ready to welcome customers in April-May: the apartment we booked should have been definitively more comfortable and with better spaces then the one the move us, considering the rate we paid for our stay! We will not recommend this accommodation to others!

I enjoyed the amazing views as well as the peaceful environment. The apartment was neat and had everything I needed.
The bus ride into town was a great way to see more of Tromso even though it was 30 minutes each way. I loved it.

Lovely small city, buses are fantastic. Not a lot to do there wouldn’t stay more than 3 days. Airport signage not good, public bus pickup point was unlit and scary to be at at nighttime. AirPort Express bus doesn’t have enough buses on at night.

The city itself is not necessarily special or historic (though some bits are) but the area around the city has some great scenic walks and of course the outlook across the sea/bay is stunning at any time of year, but particularly in the blue hour of the winter days. Lots of buses run regularly to outlying areas and there are fast buses to the airport to connect with flight check-in times. Take a walk along Stien langs sjøen (path along the shore) to the Trondenes Historical Museum (great wee cafe there) and the Adolf cannon from WW2.

The cabin we stayed in was roomy, wonderfully provisioned, and exceptionally clean. The restaurant offers a full-selection breakfast buffet and a full-service dinner that includes a selection of regional fish deliciously prepared. The village is quaint and charming and has several local, short hikes that are walking distance from the hotel. We loved everything about our stay and hope to return someday to see the Northern Lights!

Tromsø is an amazing city; it’s known for being at great place to catch the northern lights but it’s also got lots of culture and flavor. For a smaller city, it’s got ample bars, festivals, restaurants, and easily accessible nature, that make it outrival many big cities. Catch a football game, hike a mountain, or drink beer from the world’s northernmost brewery while you’re waiting for the aurora :)
