The attitude and behaviour of the staff specially Vivian was commendable. She was very helpful and cooperative. Advised us on tidbits and gave us wonderful tips so that our one night two days stay in Rotorua was memorable. The hotel was superb and the ambience, location was fabulous with lots of eating places nearby including the outstation bus terminal. The whole team of the staff of this hotel deserves special mention.

Sizable rooms and the close proximity to the city centre made it a good choice for us when visiting Rotorua. The staff was excellent and very helpful when we forgot a bag when checking out. They made sure everything was recovered and kept safe until we were able to come back and get it.

A perfect place to stay for mountain biking enthusiasts! There’s a dedicated bike wash area, and I was able to safely store my bike right in the private outdoor hot tub area of the room, which made me feel totally at ease about bike security. The private hot tub was just what I needed to relax after a full day on the trails. An added bonus was the shared sauna in the motel — a wonderful surprise! Both my husband and I really enjoyed it. This place had everything we needed for a comfortable and refreshing stay.

We loved Rotorua, there are so many cool things to do solo...

We loved Rotorua, there are so many cool things to do solo or with a family. The National kiwi hatchery was wonderful and the kids favourite, we also loved the forest sky walk and glow worm tunnel, and the buried village. Top place to eat - the Fainting Goat pub in town, favourite place for Dad was Hobiton, favorite pick by mum The Secret Spot hot tubs (I recommend you leave the kids at home with dad and enjoy this place solo). It's a good idea to hire a car, we stayed a little out of town and also had fun just driving around the beautiful NZ countryside :)

Hamurana is a beautiful, quiet spot on the outskirts of Rotorua. Close enough to all the attractions with the added bonus of peace and quiet. Our accommodation on the Lake edge was so tranquil and peaceful we 'hunkered ' down for the weekend choosing only to venture out for walks.

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just...

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. Easy access to zip lining, sledging and white water rafting. Relaxing space, and a little less sulphur smell than other areas around the lake.

We loved North Island, particularly Rotorua with many options around our main interests: Maori Culture and Nature. There is So much to see. Visit and Dinner at Mitai Village, also our Visit to Te Puia Thermal Park, the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute and Kiwi Conservation Centre were Fantastic! Also the Buried Village (june 1886) and a number of Beautiful Waterfalls! Also worth paying a visit to Patrick's Pies, absolutelly great pies that received many prizes! Hobbiton visit was also very interesting.

The hotel staff and management were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, warm and tidy. Restaurant and food were excellent. Location is a short drive from the city. The facillities were superb. Beautiful blue lake with lots of birds and a coffee van and an excellent playground for all ages. Lots of great restaurants and things to do. Attractive shops. The Orakei Korako geothermal area was amazing. Also kiwi hatchery tour highly recommended in spring.

I loved the nature and surrounding lake and canals. Good for people with boats and who want to get away from populated areas. If needing food supplies bring with you as the restaurant on site works according to bookings (eg not all day /all the time). Very enjoyable site to relax and enjoy the pool, nature and gym onsite though.
