New ZealandWow what a gem accommodation, it had so much character. The facilities were lovely & the staff were so friendly & welcoming. Great location if you need to fly in or out of Nelson. We had dinner a couple of times in the restaurant downstairs & the food was delicious. When they ran out of one particular dessert the Manager made me up a special dessert as a replacement which was such a lovely touch. Highly recommend.

United StatesSpacious 2 bedroom lodge like house on the side of a hill in North Nelson. Super quiet with a gorgeous night sky. We stayed in the largest unit that had a full kitchen and laundry plus a large living room. A comfortable stop for the 4 of us after the bustle of Wellington. Stayed after taking the ferry to Picton and then driving through wine country. Mark is a great host!

The staff was SO accommodating!
We needed to leave very early before breakfast opened and they let us go into the breakfast room to grab some food even before it opened. We asked if they would store our bags for a couple days after we left and they were so happy to. On the way back we were late retrieving our bags (after hours) and they went out of their way to make it possible for us to get them quite late even after the staff had gone home. So communicative and generous. Would absolutely stay again!
Also very short (2-3 min) walk to a great dinner restaurant, which was so convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Motel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large clean and comfortable and after a long day of driving the room service was a welcome bonus.
The available laundry room just topped off a great experience.

Everything was catered for!! Cabin had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean, amazing showers and modern facilities, kitchen etc, close to town, lovely gardens. Staff exceptional ☺️

Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually).
Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually). Seems well set up and well kept for visitors and the community in general. Rubbish bins, seating in the CBD.
Ebus is a great way to get around (especially with a Bee card). Cheap and every 30mins a bus goes somewhere!
City gardens are really pretty and nice for a peaceful stroll though.

This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond.
This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond. However there is a path where you can walk to Stoke in at about 45 minutes. Richmond has many shops and supermarkets. Stoke has two supermarkets and a few shops.

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies.
Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money
The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.

Loved the friendly people, very creative and arty outlets, and artists, lovely eateries and markets, lots to do and see. We unfortunately got caught in the bad weather and were stranded for two more days - would have been great, but too wet and flooded to do anything else. Not Nelson's fault though! - We will be back to pick up where we left off!
