The staff from the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping were always courteous and accommodating. We were traveling with three senior citizens and the staff assisted them like family. Kalibo is a cute little town on a mid sized island.
Kalibo is a cute little town on a mid sized island. People are very friendly and helpful. Visit the large Church on Central Square. Try a visit to New Washington and the local memorial for Bishop Sin, who was instrumental in avoiding bloodshed during the 1986 revolution that austed the then ruling Dictator Ferdinand Marcos. Caticlan is a small community mostly used for by travelers to ferry between the mainland and Boracay. If you so happen to stay longer then there are tours into the hills. At the Port there is a bank, 7/11, pharmacy and many other stores. Also a high volume of security personnel. Very safe place. Nice beaches and i will really miss the wonderful pizza from 'Ari Italiana Cucina' at D Mall. I did not like being constantly approched and offered massages. Also, it was diffivult to browse the stalls at D Mall because the vendors all want me to buy from their stalls. I flew into Kalibo to visit Boracay.
I flew into Kalibo to visit Boracay. That was a huge mistake. It is a long bus ride on terrible roads to get to Caticlan. The bus had no suspension to speak of.
