This is a place where the owners have added their love and focus of details to create a place where beauty and clam fulness go hand in hand. Time stopes and you are able just to be present and relax. The place is full of the most clam and well behaved animals, cute dogs, beautiful horses, ducks, goats, cats, both inside and outside in a fine balance, seen from a guests perspective. The property it self has a great layout. Works very well with a guest section with two large room in one end. From here direct access to a beautiful and clean pool sections with a panoramic view to the valley. The rooms, we occupied both, they are nice, clean and with large bathrooms, a nice televisions/couch section and a really nice big bed with a stunning view to the valley. The stay came with breakfast, wrong not just breakfast but a well assortment of various local food specialties arranged in creative ways making it not just a breakfast. Hosts are great and having a nice balance of engagement and privacy. It is very clear they are passionate in providing you an excellent experience enjoying their nice place. Sharish is far from everything, however the local village has many very nice restaurants providing both local, but also cuisines in the high end - at reasonable prices. Do book a slot at the observatory 7-8 min ride away. Interesting town to visit, and not too touristy. Enjoyed seeing the chapel of bones, and the nativity scene collections. It took longer to retrieve our rental car from Lisbon than we expected, and we stopped in Evora on our way to Monsaraz. We arrived late and left in the morning, leaving little time to explore. A full day is probably enough, which we intended to have but misjudged the time navigating the transportation. Driving through town was an adventure with the very narrow and steep streets. History, history, history, the perfect place for a walking tour with so much variety, and very good food plus friendly helpful service. The only drawback was the bus station, where a begger seems to hang out asking everyone for money, and the absence of an obvious persons selling bus tickets. Very cute Historic Fortified Town. Its very well cared for, very easy to access and visit. Never forget that this is a town on the top of a hill, so there are a lot of walking up and down to visit it properly. We enjoyed a lot the experience. There are only a few restaurants, really just a few and I think they only cater to the tourist and, we followed the google maps rating to choose one and we did very bad. The food was not good at all for the prices charged, So I think in terms restaurants there they just try to take advantage of the tourists visiting , charging high prices and offering very plain not well prepared food, a tourist trap. The museum (Centro Interpretativo do Tapete de Arraiolos) is reaaly worth visiting. Tapestry had never interested me before, and I learned a lot on our visit. It made like tapestry, who would have guessed! Food is great on the 4 restaurants we ate in, but expensive on 3 of them. Alandroal had many villages close by each other. Driving was really easy, no stress with driving or parking. Villages had food, sites and ways to enjoy the day. Each took just the right amount of time to explore. And, they don't take an usual time to get from one to the next. I am a vegetarian and my experience in the long past is that I would find nothing to eat....
