It was my first time in Baile Herculane, and I was looking for a quiet, restful place. Hotel Domogled did not disappoint. A lot of the clientele is there to take advantage of the various balneotherapy procedures performed in the onsite clinic. There's also a swimming pool open to all the hotel guests. I had a double room with a balcony on the 4th floor with a gorgeous view of the park in front, flanked by mountains. The room was newly furnished, luminous, quiet, and very clean. The bathroom was in good working order, clean, and big enough not to feel crammed. There is a buffet restaurant on the premises where breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served. The menu is well selected (mostly Romanian dishes), there is plenty of variety (at least three choices of soups, meats, and side dishes), and the quality of the food is consistently good. My room included breakfast, but after trying their lunch menu once, I had most of my lunches in there, paying separately. Try it once. You might be coming back. The atmosphere is quiet; no loud music, no loud guests, no parties at midnight. It may look not all that inviting from the outside, but don't let that deter you from staying there. The lobby, the rooms, the restaurants, the pool area, the sun terrace, are all beautiful. It was very hot during our visit to Timisoara, so we loved relaxing at the pool for a while after exploring the beautiful city. The hotel is situated ideally for a stay in town, very close to the old town centre with its wonderful squares and mansions. The food we had was excellent, the staff friendly, competent and helpful. We paid around 50 euros for the room and you have plenty of parking in front of it (Free on the weekend and weekdays is free from 18:00 until 08:00) . The view of the mountains is beautiful and the history associated with this place. The Apollo bath museum, the statue of Hercules and the Casino are nice places to visit. There is a lot of history starting with the fortress on top of the hill above the town from the era of fighting Turks. The town is nice and very clean and it has enough to offer, even in winter. The not-so-good aspect is that it is rather quiet in the evening, so it is not recommended for people who seek entertainment throughout the night. Great restaurants and very close to Belgrade. Taxi service is excellent and inexpensive. For best "cevapi" go to BIG and Restaurant Walter, for roast piglet(PECENJE) or roast lamb I recommend Restaurant Beli Narcis or Kod Velje. Both are excellent. Stayed in Timisoara twice. It's a very beautiful city. It's got such a nightlife vibe, 11 PM and the main square is full of people having fun. On my 2nd stay here there was a festival and there was a concert in the Liberty Square, with tons of people, beer, fast food places etc. Architecturally also, the city is very nice.
