Normally I don’t write any reviews, not for booking, any other hotel/b&b/etc. visits or any other reviews for that matter. But the visit at Winehouse Oton Reya (which is actually the name of the winemaker) was so special that it would feel wrong not to write a review. We’ve been visiting Slovenia with a group of four people; my best friend, his girlfriend, my fiancé and myself. One of our latest visits was Winehouse Oton Reya, which is located very close to Smartno. Once we arrived we could at first not find anybody at the appartment. A few minutes later we heard voices coming from downstairs. That is where I met Oton. Oton was busy with mashing the grapes, the first step in wine making, after harvesting the grapes of course. During our visit (mid September) it was time to harvest and process the grapes for wine production. Oton showed us his wonderful appartment with two spacious two person beds, one on the first floor and the second on the second floor, accessible via a designer stairs. Besides the nice bedrooms the appartment also has a big open shower, which was the first we’ve seen so far during our trip. After the tour Oton said he would be back for check in in 30 minutes so he could finish processing of the grapes first. Half an hour later we did the check-in and for the remainder of the night we sat outside on the porch with a fantastic view on the vineyards down on the valley. The next morning I’ve asked Oton if it was ok if I could help him with his work on the vineyard. After a short moment of doubt he said sure why not. Oton, myself, his workers and a neighbouring friend (Timon, owner of Vila Eva Olive Oil) jumped on the tractor and drove to the vineyards for harvesting the Rebula grapes. Oton teached me what good and bad (sour/mouldy) grapes look like so I knew how to properly harvest and collect the good grapes.

We had an amazing stay at Zoi Apartments in Goriška Brda, often called the "Slovenian Tuscany." Luca, the host, was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our No. 5 apartment offered a breathtaking private view of the vineyards and rolling hills, and the ample parking space made everything convenient (we arrived with a bigger van). Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway!

The location is something that pulled us to stay longer. The privacy and silence is top notch. Breakfast with a view is super and Tanja ( the host) made our stay even memorable. Restaurants and supermarket are few kilometers away from the property and the solitude of each sunrise and sunset while taking for a walk around the area is something that we’ll never forget.

We loved it here! It was the whole package; spacious room, breathtaking landscape, great location, delicious breakfast, and last but not least super friendly owners and the whole team :) We even had the chance to taste some of their wines and the host explained about their production and the farm, which I really appreciated!

We had been to the restaurant before and had enjoyed the lovely wines and local cuisine, but this time we also stayed for two nights, enjoyed the pool with the panoramic view and the delicious breakfast on their terrace. We will for sure be back here and we recommend!

A beautiful winery with a typical atmosphere. The host is very friendly and told us a lot about the region and the wine. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast is good, with a lot of homemade food. Enough parking space available.

Our room was exceptionally large and beautiful from a design perspective, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The restaurant was also excellent, both wait staff and chef. A real highlight was the cellar.

The location is phenomenal - overlooking many vineyards. Super close to many of the regions best wineries, as well as amenities and picturesque towns. Everything inside was modern and functional.

Beautiful setting, rooms and restaurant. This is a very special hotel. The staff take great care to make sure you are well taken care of. Dinner and breakfasts were fantastic.

5 course dinner and wine pairing, great recommendations in the area and a great room with a view. All staff were extremely nice

We were warmly welcomed and taken care of. The views are amazing, breakfast tasty and it all feels wonderful rustic.

Everything; the host was very friendly and helpful, location is fantastic and the apartement is just perfect.
