Old man owner is of the purest of hearts. Made us feel so welcomed and bent over backwards to make sure our stay was as great as possible. Room was a good size, very clean and better than the picture advertised.

Right on the beach, with lounge chairs under umbrellas and trees. A small shop on site was so handy. In a perfect location of Koh samet. We rented a bike from the hotel. Very friendly and helpful service. Will be back!

We stayed at Baan Ploy Sea for two nights, in a jungle view room. The room was spacious and very clean, and very quiet through the night. Probably a better choice than the sea view rooms, which are right next to the little pool where kids start to play early in the morning. The restaurant is great, clearly one of the best on the island, and breakfast was delicious. Staff is very helpful. The beachfront is clean, and that part of the bay isn't too busy with boats. You can rent a paddle board or kayaks. An extra bonus is the incredibly smooth logistics from mainland to the island and back. If I ever return to Koh Samed, I know where to stay.

We loved everything about this resort, staff working soo hard and they are super kind! all resort dogs and cats were cute would take them home :) resort is in the middle of island and easy to get to main town also beach is nice and easy to walk to another beaches next to our resort. it was like heaven on the earth. Bed comfortable AC was working good btw great bfast really enjoyed variety + restaurant view Just bring enought money - there is no ATM at island but easy to exchange money

Everything is perfect. Wonderful experience. Dream location, at the end of the beach with no nuisance from cars. White sandy beach, spacious, quiet and very clean rooms. Communal areas open onto the sea. The pools are superb and everything is in a very green setting. The service is very professional and all the staff are dedicated and very helpful. A true 4-star experience, an exceptional interlude that begins as soon as you arrive at the pier. A discovery and an address to remember.

Beautiful room with an amaying view of the sea. The infinity pool was wonderful and nearly always empty so was very peaceful. It was a quiet location, perfect for couples. The beach is 1 minute away and the hotel provide towels and loungers for you to use, free of charge. The gardens were gorgeous and the staff were so kind and helpful. Great place to see some nature too including lizards, birds, frogs, and snakes.

Loved basicly everything. Nice rooms. Big bathrooms. Standard good quality breakfast. Green, cosy, quiet; little cute pool. We didn't have a big terrace, but the little one with a bench was enough for us. The little sofa our kid slept on was pretty hard, but it wasn't a family room or smth, so we were ok about it. 1 min walk to a great beach.

We had an amazing time at this resort. The beach is gorgeous and the staff were fantastic. It's a perfect location if you're looking for a really quiet, relaxing time. Bring a little cash as you have to pay 200 baht per person on arrival for staying in the National Park. Make sure you check out the Sunset Bar.

For us you need to be careful where to stay the main town is...

For us you need to be careful where to stay the main town is disappointing as are all the resorts and the beaches which we visited for a few hours. If you like to be approached by beach sellers trying to sell you various wares then fine but the whole point of visiting an island is to chill and our resort in my view was completely chilled with very little guests and having the whole resort to ourselves whilst everyone else went to commercial beaches. It is true people are like sheep.

No working ATMs can be a problem if you don't have scan and pay. I don't like carrying that much cash. Other than that, its a perfect quiet get away. Everything i needed was in walking distance. There are many good restaurants and places to sit on the beach at night. But is not a party island. You don't have to worry about loud music late into the night.

Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years.

Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years. It now feels much more like a tourist hot spot than a quiet island escape… and it’s still developing. You can still find only moderately-populated powder white beaches however, with some of the best local on-beach restaurants anywhere in the country. And it’s only 50B for a shaded deckchair all day. In terms of negatives it can become overpopulated on weekends, and in the high season, and can be very scruffy in places when you go in land. I still love it though, despite all the haphazard growth over the last 20 years.
