FAQs about hotels in Phuket Province
Idyllic Island of International Fame
Thailand’s largest island, Phuket has a mountainous landscape leading down to lush, green palms, warm, turquoise seas and soft, golden sands. Patong is its most developed resort and is well known for outrageous nightlife. There are lots of clubs, bars and restaurants in the main town and it also has a fantastic beach lined with hotels and resorts.
To the south is Karon, home to the 2nd largest beach and offshore coral reefs that are good for snorkelling. Quieter Kamala also has coral reefs and good surfing conditions, as do the curved beaches at Kata.
The island’s airport is in the north and there are lots of Phuket hotels near the airport in Mai Khao and Nai Yang, where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. In Bangtao to the south there is a great range of Phuket hotels with private pools on Booking.com, while around the corner in exclusive Surin there are often typical Thai long boats bobbing up and down in the rolling waves.
On the other side of the island Chalong has an impressive Buddhist temple and is a popular spot for kitesurfing. Neighbouring Panwa has shallow water coral and the Phuket Aquarium to explore. The Phi Phi islands are off Phuket’s eastern shores and their idyllic scenery makes wonderful day trips.

- From US$173.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 617 reviewsThe staff was friendly and helpful. We got an upgrade to 2 bedroom suite at a discount with direct pool access away from the crowds near to Bodega restaurant. It is a quiet area great for the elderly. The buggy service was responsive. We were worried about mosquitoes because of the lakes but this issue was less than expected. The breakfast at Bogeda is much less hectic and a lot quieter than Market Place, and the food presentation appears better. Later realized that it is only for guests who are booked in certain rooms. The beach is long and the sand is very fine without broken or significant washed up debris, which afflict many beaches elsewhere. The waves can be strong though. The suite was clean, large and very convenient located with a separate dining and living room . It has a fairly large balcony directly accessing the pool. We found that we didn't need to venture out of the resort. The complimentary boat and kayak facility allowed for connection to other lakes and resorts. The entire complex of lakes and resorts makes this place much large than it appears. There is a free shuttle service to nearby shopping areas and shopsGuest review byShu-LeongHong Kong
- From US$1,269.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 28 reviewsThe hotel is absolutely stunning and nestled in the mountain cliff area away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, which worked for us. The staff were so attentive and very friendly. The room is also beautifully decorated and very spacious. The bathroom and dressing area is very large! The food was fantastic, the Thai restaurant is a must, and we did the cooking class, which is an amazing experience. They also gave us a goody bag, which was such a lovely touch. Overall 10/10 experience.Guest review byRayaOman

The beds are comfy, you will be provided with like 8 bottles of water for 2 persons. The location is excellent - a Buddhist temple nearby and a beach in the other direction is 5 minutes close.Guest review bySERGEYRussia

There are lots of stalls for bargain hunters, heaps of food options and of course a variety of nightlife spots to keep you entertained. Choose your timing, if you want to avoid crowds then don't go in the evening. You can book all your tours at one of the many outlets. And you'll find the best exchange rates at the currency exchange booths. Be prepared for people to be constantly trying to get your attention for goods and services. I'd recommend doing at least one island tour, go to Old Phuket Town and treat the elephants to a delightful scrub.Guest review byLisaAustralia - 8.0

Sun (the manager) and his amazing team treat you like family instantly and you honestly feel that the hotel is your Thai home. My family and I will never forget the wonderful facilities, food and warm feeling we received from everybody at the Pacific Club. My sons wanted me to mention Ron and Joso who made their stay by always stopping for a chat. I could not recommend to a family a better hotel in Phuket. Each evening you can ask reception to organise a tuk tuk to take you to Karon main strip for a couple of pound and on a Tuesday and Friday there is a fantastic night market at the temple. Well worth checking out. The best places to eat (apart from thd lovely menu at the hotel) are the tiny restaurants down the side streets. The ones with 2 or 3 tables and plastic chairs where you can see the chef. We ate some of the best food of our lives for unbelievable prices. Leaving a tip in these places goes a long way!Guest review byhazelUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Kata Beach was busy, especially at the southern end. We rented a scooter and visited Karon Beach and Hai Harn Beach. There are heaps of shopping, money exchanges and restaurant options in Kata Beach. We walked or used a scooter.Guest review byMelindaAustralia - 10.0

There is a village feel to Kamala Beach, you can easily walk to shops, restaurants etc. Lots of local stalls for drinks, food, massages, sun loungers etc right on the beach. Later in the day beach volleyball is very popular - casual horseriding, jet skis, surfing and parasailing available. Some walkways/footpaths along the beach restaurant areas have been upgraded in the past 2 years - so much easier. There are now 3 supermarkets on the main road. This area is very popular with something for everyone. Our absolute favourite area in Phuket.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 8.0

Go along where the restaurants and people are as it's the nicest there, or a tiny bit farther south along the shore. Closer to the airport and national park, the beach is very dirty and full of rubbish, although you can watch the airplanes take off. I loved eating at The Beach Restaurant Nai Yang. Right on the beach and reasonable prices.Guest review byJacquelineNew Zealand - 6.0

Room for improvement to be clean and well organised to manage shops, restaurants, and massages to welcome tourists from around the world. Now is dirty not only because of trash from the waves but also on the beach with all shops - does not clean their own area. Recommend Bangtao Beach from the middle up towards the north to Layan Beach.Guest review byVassanaThailand - 10.0
I have been going to Rawai for 25 Years.
I have been going to Rawai for 25 Years. I even bought land there. Its great as there are many beaches and restaurants, with Nai Harn very close a 5 Star Beach. There are many places of interest nearby, unfortunately Big Buddha is currently closed. One thing to note now is that the Banks won't let you take money from your Debit Card, Credit cards are O.K though, but I don't use them. Every where uses cash so make sure you take plenty of cash to last for your holiday. The ATM machine withdrawals will cost you £10 a withdrawal with a limit of £200. Average Restaurant meal costs around £25 for 3 people inc. soft drinks. I always hire a car, but services have improved with regular electric buses and always taxis/tuktuks,Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 8.0
