The guesthouse is a great place to stay if you want to visit Lake Natron. It is situated on a hill which gives it a great view over the surroundings and the lake. The owner was incredibly friendly! He helped us with information about the fees for the national park (Be aware of the gate fee of 35$ and the Tanzanian wildlife management fee of 30$ for every night that you spend there), as well as arranging a bus ticket for us for the way back to Arusha, and he also planned our trip to the Ol Doinyo Lengai Volcano. Even though the guesthouse is still under construction, which is why e.g. the WiFi and the swimming pool were not available yet, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again!

We had the most wonderful time at our stay in the Maasai Giraffe eco lodge. Unfortunately prior to the stay some issues with our rental car occured and we were lucky to be spending the upcoming night at this place. Marco was our angle who guided us through the process of managing our further steps in order to keep continuing our trip. We were given a free upgrade from tents to bungalows and were treated with incredible kindness and were welcomed as friends. Thank you guys so much for your time, help, patience and efforts. We met as strangers and left as friends.
Additionally - delicious, fresh food, nice adventures, friendly staff, clean pool to recover from a long trip. They are having a fire place, where you can spend some time, the drinks are nice and you'll be living in between the lake and the great ol doinyo lengai. Perfect place to stay and would totally recommend it.

A beautiful lodge by Lake Natron, perfect for relaxation. The food was truly impressive—everything was freshly prepared, varied, and even included delicious vegan options. The pool offers a stunning view of the surrounding landscape and volcanoes, making it a perfect spot to unwind.
The rooms are spacious and well-equipped with everything you need, including mosquito nets for a comfortable stay. The staff was incredibly attentive and took great care of us throughout our visit.
We can wholeheartedly recommend this lodge and would love to return!

For every little thing you have to pay some sort of local...
For every little thing you have to pay some sort of local fees which are quite high. Even for just the visiting the place (Lake Natron) it is mandatory to pay same local taxes beside the government taxes.
The main attraction is Lake Natron, however there were only a few flamingos in August. Access to the lake is only by land, no one offered a ride on the lake. Another attraction is the waterfall. Access to the waterfall is poorly maintained and it is necessary to walk along the stream. To see the lake and the waterfall, we (two) had to pay a total of 50 USD. It is also possible to visit the village, but the village is built set for tourists, the entrance fee for two was 50 USD.
