- From US$258.78 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 447 reviewsThe location is fabulous,as are the grounds and the lodge. Staff was very helpful. We we’re given complimentary breakfast, upgrade and waiver of amenity fee because all pool facilities were under renovation from mid-September until at least mid-November, which booking.com did not mention at all when we booked our two-day stay. The staff complained that they had contacted booking several times about this. Still, incoming patrons had no idea and the reception staff felt really awkward about having to deal with the fallout. The lady at the reception solved the problem elegantly and made our stay memorable nonetheless.Guest review byHenrietteNetherlands

Easy access to The Dalles but also Dufur itself has a lot to offer for anyone seeking peace and nature.Guest review byAnnikaGermany

Great little town that I need to return to!
Great little town that I need to return to! I was in town for a wedding and wished I had been able to stay an extra day or two - even in the middle of prime tourist season! Really enjoyed driving outside of town to visit orchards - would love to return in the fall!Guest review byChristinaUnited States - 10.0

Beautiful sunrises and the frequency of AA meetings for me to attend in The Dalles makes it all the more pleasant and peaceful for this newly recovering guy to be in a good place mentally!!! I highly recommend Cousins restaurant for a delicious breakfast and if I wasn't on the high protein low carbs diet I would demolish one of their cinnamon rolls!! They are huge and look devine 🫶Guest review byAnne MarieUnited States - 6.0
Boardman is a small eastern Oregon town.
Boardman is a small eastern Oregon town. It is on the way to somewhere. For me it’s a stopover when going to Northern Idaho. The Sleep Inn is a nice addition to the town and I now make it my regular halfway point to rest for the next part of my trip.Guest review byMonicaUnited States - 6.0

I have extended family history here and learn new things with every visit. We skipped the museum this time because of 4th of July madness. GREAT fireworks and some viewing areas allow you to see across the river where Stevenson is also putting on a show. The old Cascade Inn is just sad. But- the town looks to be trying to do a facelift. The new arcade is a cute idea, although we didn't go inside. That Chinese Food place hasn't been open for as far back as I can remember. LOVE the brewpubs and the upgraded former Charburger although it is the same style ordering process. Exploring the area is a treasure trove. Hiking and river sports seems to be the main draw. A drive into Hood River for shopping and seeing the beautiful historical houses is a must- Both brewhouses have great food and of course you cannot leave without an ice cream cone from the burger stand! It's the best I've ever enjoyed!Guest review byJanaUnited States - 8.0

Stevenson is a very cute small town, but as such there aren't a lot of nearby eating establishments. It has great proximity to Hood River, OR, and all that the city has to offer, which is a lot. We came particularly for Hood River's Fruit Loop, an annual family activity for us.Guest review byLindaUnited States - 10.0

The location in the backdrop of the high mountains and the Columbia river below is outstanding. The trails around the property added a nice touch to clear my mind surrounded by nature. The meditation chapel I stumbled into was a bonus for finding a pleasant place to reflect on life. Eating at the newly renovated Elk Ridge golf course restaurant was great. We came back in the day when it was just a small bar and grill. Food offerings were broad this time. I’ll have again the steelhead and broiled asparagus. The golf course has improved so much and the greens were in great condition. I highly recommend calling in advance for a T time, because it fills up fast. People are catching on that this is a playable, yet challenging 18 hole course. The view around the golf course is stunning. We will definitely return for a longer visit since it’s easy to get there from Oregon. Who can’t benefit from a natural hot springs soak after golf or hiking?! Some guests at the spa were regulars for the massage and body wraps. They say the pricing is reasonable and really effective for relaxation. I’ll have to add that to my next visit.Guest review byLenoreUnited States - 6.0
Go another 20 miles are you can stay in Kennewick, WA.
Go another 20 miles are you can stay in Kennewick, WA. It is a bigger community with many more amenities. I would say that Umitilla/Hermiston is a 1 night stop when on the road. I would recommend going 20 miles further and stay in Kennewick WAGuest review byCatherineUnited States - 10.0

The Inn of the White Salmon was a wonderful place to stay: quiet, clean, and with a wonderful outdoor garden where one could sit and relax. The nearby White Salmon Bakery Company offered a tremendous selection of good savory and sweet breakfast fares.Guest review byRobertUnited States - 10.0
Mt. Hood covers a huge area with lots of outdoor activities.
Mt. Hood covers a huge area with lots of outdoor activities. Skiing year round, biking , hiking, lots of lakes in the area. Barely scratched the surface. Timberline Lodge is a must see - be prepared for crowds. Mt. Hood Meadows ski area is much more accessible, take the summer ski lift up and hike down through lush meadows and forests packed with wildflowers. A totally different scene lies in the beautiful Hood River Valley to the northeast of the mountain, a valley filled with orchards and other agricultural delights.Guest review byMaggieUnited States - 10.0

We were en route else where but we wished we could have spent more time in Hood River, even though we'd been there for a brief visit once before. Seems to be many good places to eat for a town that size and the opportunity to dine looking out over the river was a special treat after a long day's drive. There are endless hiking opportunities, for every hiking ability, all around the area. In summer there are many other activities on the river. Everyone we encountered was bright and friendly. Really nice people!Guest review byJulianneUnited States
