You MUST stay at the Olympic Lodge by Ayers! Beautiful, cozy environment, very nice continental breakfast, lovely fireplace and lots of seating, and we loved the hot tub! The staff was fantastic. We're not so out of shape that we can't get around just fine, but we're also not hiking enthusiasts. So if you're looking for stunning scenery/views with little-to-no hiking experience, the drive through Lake Crescent was other-worldly beautiful with frequent opportunities to stop and take pics/use the restroom, and the trail to the waterfall in Sol Duc Falls was straight out of a fairy tale. Beautiful town, lovely people. I enjoyed walking around and meeting people.I visited the Jardin du Soleil Lavender Farm, and the Dugeness Spit Unfortunately, I had car trouble so couldn't get around as much as I wanted to, but was impressed how people were willing to help me. I was referred to Auto Depot on River Road and they fit me in immediately, so I could keep to my travel schedule. They were exceptionally nice. If I had come earlier in the fall when the weather was better two nights at the hotel with time to explore Hurricane Ridge would have been my preference.
