- Scored out of 10, guest rating 6.1Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 611 reviewsthe room was good sized and the bathroom had a whirlpool bathtub which was good to have after a day walking around Mackinaw island. the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very pet friendly. the location was perfect, downtown , and the ferry were all well with in walking distance of the lodge. I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive after I read some of the reviews, However but this place was a great value for the money. when we come back this will be the place we useGuest review byMillsUnited States

Clean and neat, amazing views, great breakfast restaurants!
Clean and neat, amazing views, great breakfast restaurants! So very many choices of hotels and motels depending on if you want a lake view or bridge view or city view. Beautiful downtown shopping area, touristy shops, fun restaurants. Definitely a tourist stop and stayGuest review byDanUnited States - 10.0
So much to explore!
So much to explore! We visited the lighthouses and sleeping bear dunes. Tried to explore the commons shopping area, but couldn't seem to get there. Could have used a better map. Hopefully we can check it out next time. Lots of road construction made it a challenge to navigate an unfamiliar city. Views were stunning along the bay. We hope to visit again perhaps next spring. Parking was definitely an issue. We passed on exploring some shops and restaurants because parking couldn't be found.Guest review byHarold - 10.0

I love the gift of going to Detroit for a night out on the town or a quick overnight stay. We ate at the Selden Standard, a five star restaurant only minutes away from the hotel by car. We had a beautiful nightcap at the Apparatus Room lounge and breakfast the next morning at Hudson Cafe. That is a beautiful way to enjoy a birthday!Guest review byJanineUnited States - 10.0

We took a shuttle from the hotel to the port for a ferry to Mackinac Island and back to the hotel when it was finished. We only saw the town as we rode through but went back to a Jamaican restaurant for dinner. It would be fun to spend more time here to visit more of the town and what sites they might hold.Guest review byJoeUnited States - 2.0
The staff was awful.
The staff was awful. It took me 30 mins to check in and I gave the man a physical credit card to pay for my room however they charged a different credit card because "they automatically charge the card you have on file at 6pm, all hotels do this according to the woman I spoke to" and added a $3 airport fee that was not explained at the time of check in. Simply letting me know what was going on could have made this a completely different review. but I realize customer service is a lost art. Simply refunding my card and charging the correct card could have cleared this completely up. Even if you are just a budget hotel being hospitable cost nothing and goes a long way. Take some pride in what you do.Guest review byCandacePeru - 10.0

I stayed in Kal-Zoo for two periods, and only visited the location close to the Train station and nearby school. It is a nice little town with good public transportation support (bus). This town, although quite remote compared to other US big cities, I do enjoy the serenity when walking down the street, with very few cars on roads most of the time.Guest review byCheng - 6.0

The people in Marquette were very nice. It depends on what you are looking for. Marquette was more congested than I expected but it offered a lot of good things. They had great museums, some fun shops, good food and friendly people.Guest review byStock - 8.0
