The town felt both quaintly and historically antiquated, yet superbly modern. For example, the aquarium seemed both historic while also avant guarde in ecological and environmental studies. Bravo to one and to all, I hereby resolve.Guest review bySeanUnited States - 6.0

Although we had passed through Santa Cruz previously, this was our first stay. Candidly, the town felt quite run down and in some places downright shabby. We were staying principally to visit the Roaring Camp Railroad and Scotts Valley, ultimately on our way to San Francisco. If we were staying in the area again, we would stay in the much more attractive town of Capitola, just a few minutes South of Santa Cruz.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a beautiful upmarket town, unspoiled by high rise buildings and bad planning decisions. This was the third time we had visited and it has never disappointed. Quaint houses and shops, clean streets and wonderful beaches. Plenty of on street parking and friendly people. A must visit if you are in Northern California, as is the 17 mile, picturesque, drive between Carmel and Monterey.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We enjoyed this location as it was easy to access Monterey and all the areas we wanted to visit. Rosine's in Monterey is Tops to us! Transiting the area was very easy. No bad traffic. Everything flowed well.Guest review byTirasmomUnited States - 10.0
Marina is a beautiful little town just north of Monterey.
Marina is a beautiful little town just north of Monterey. With CSUMB right there, there are a number of stores and restaurants typical of a college town. Monterey is just a short drive away but Marina is quiet without the hustle and crowds. Daddy's City Diner is a great place to start your day with a hearty breakfast! Stop by Baker's Bacon for some fresh, tasty bacon, sausage and cheese. Take some candied bacon with you for a wonderful snack.Guest review byJasonUnited States - 8.0
Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel.
Everything you need for a Roadside Hotel. Outside and property was well maintained, clean and landscaped. Room was well appointed and for the most part really clean. I very much appreciate a laminate floor vs. carpet that you know is never clean. Had a a nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, ice machine. Area has grocery stores and restaurants in the area that you can walk to. (Just avoid the Mexican place across the street, unless you want some stomach upset! Trust me you'll thank me!) Again, was everything you needed and will book again for my Concours stay next year! Thank you!Guest review byKathrynUnited States - 10.0

Capitola offers many good restaurants, and plenty of beaches to visit. We went to the Moss Landing slew one day to watch the numerous birds. We ate at Cafe Cruz, and several other restaurants. We are not exactly a young couple, so we mostly like eating good food, and gazing at the Pacific. The weather was bright and sunny.Guest review bysuzanneUnited States - 6.0

I went to Aptos for one night to attend an anniversary party. I have visited the area several times and never found it very appealing as it is very crowded, traffic can be horrendous, and the public beaches that are easily accessible are not very beautiful. I much prefer Monterey or Half Moon Bay or Northern California area beaches for scenic beauty. The party was held at Bittersweet Bistro in Aptos, however, which is a restaurant I do highly recommend if you go to Aptos, the food was wonderful!Guest review byJodyUnited States - 10.0
So much wildlife, we loved it.
So much wildlife, we loved it. The sea lions were hilarious, all piled on docks at the harbor, and it seemed like a real working town, not a fake touristy spot. And do visit the Shakespeare Society of America in Moss Landing. What a hoot! Can't really explain it but see for yourself. We ate at Sea Harvest and the Thai restaurant near the inn, both adequate and inexpensive. I was stoked to visit Pezzini Farms and I will be ordering heritage artichokes from them this spring. Whale Watch Point right across from the harbor was fun just to chill and stare at the sea lions and so many pelicans.Guest review byCynthiaUnited States - 10.0
